‘Combination of All 3 Guys That Went Before Him’ — 5-Time NBA Champion Drops Bold Prediction for Bulls’ Caleb Wilson

NBA champion Derek Fisher calls Bulls' No. 4 pick Caleb Wilson the best of everyone before him on the 2026 draft board.

Caleb Wilson is yet to step foot in the United Center, but expectations are already high.

Selected fourth overall in the 2026 NBA Draft, the Chicago Bulls’ newest addition brings a strong mix of athletic power and elite playmaking that could help shape a team’s trajectory and provide the franchise with a needed spark.

Derek Fisher Believes Caleb Wilson Is a ‘Combination of First Three Picks’

Wilson put together a strong freshman campaign, averaging 19.8 points and 9.4 rebounds across 24 contests.

While two hand injuries, including a broken right thumb in March, forced him to miss the final nine games of the season, including March Madness, the former North Carolina Tar Heels star’s physical dominance and two-way skill set made him one of the more coveted prospects in this year’s draft.

On the latest episode of the morning show “D-Fish & Decker” on 97.1 The Fan, five-time NBA champion Derek Fisher dropped a sizzling take on Caleb Wilson.

While discussing this year’s draft board, Fisher claimed that the new Bulls rookie might be the best one among the top four picks.

“Caleb Wilson could be the best player in the entire thing,” Fisher said. “He can do everything, man. He can really do everything, seriously. You could drop him into any NBA team today, and he’s going to help you win. Period. I mean, it’s why he was taken fourth.”

Fisher emphasized the 19-year-old’s versatility in adapting to any modern NBA system, making him a complete package.

While the Washington Wizards’ top pick, A.J. Dybantsa, the Utah Jazz’s second overall pick, Darryn Peterson, and the Memphis Grizzlies’ third overall pick, Cameron Boozer, dominated this year’s headlines, it was the Bulls who managed to lock down a player who can easily replicate the best traits of all three prospects combined.

“Like the Grizzlies taking Boozer at three…Like, I am happy for their family. Obviously, Peterson and Dybantsa were the one-two back-and-forth guys the whole time,” Fisher continued.

“He (Peterson) wanted to be No. 1, but I could be very wrong, but Caleb Wilson is a combination of all three of the guys that went before him. He is a little bit of Dybantsa, a little bit of Peterson, and a little bit of Boozer. All in one package.”

The 6-foot-9 forward is being viewed as more than just a typical top-five lottery pick.

The consensus five-star recruit has shown brilliance on both sides of the court, from selfless ball passing to a 16-rebound masterpiece against Florida State back in December 2025.

If Fisher’s scouting report holds any truth, the Bulls might have just landed the ultimate draft-day steal.
