Caleb Wilson Makes Bold Michael Jordan Claim After Being Drafted by the Chicago Bulls
In a selection that came as no surprise, the Bulls selected Wilson with the No. 4 overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft. The 6-foot-9 forward will look to strengthen the Bulls’ frontcourt next season, and is already bullish about what he can bring to the franchise.
After being drafted by the Bulls, Wilson sent a bold message to fans, saying he wanted to follow in Jordan’s footsteps.
“I want to be the greatest of all time… Y’all got one of the goats in y’all history, so it’s time for another one,” Wilson said after being selected by the Bulls in a message shared by Joel Lorenzi of The Athletic.

Jordan, undoubtedly the greatest Bull and one of the best NBA players of all time, won six NBA titles in Chicago. The Bulls have not won a title since his departure, and Wilson will look to change that in the coming years.
The Bulls were the only team Wilson met with prior to the NBA Draft. He met with the basketball operations team and the newly appointed head coach, Tiago Splitter. The mutual interest was backed by the Bulls selecting him with the No. 4 pick.
“I’m grateful for the opportunity to play in the NBA, and I feel like if that would’ve never happened, I wouldn’t be in the position that I’m in now,” Wilson told ESPN after being drafted by the Bulls.
Wilson was one of the standout players during the 2025/26 college basketball season, averaging 19.8 points, 9.4 rebounds, and 2.7 assists for the Tar Heels. He also showcased his defensive strength by averaging 1.4 blocks and 1.5 steals per game.
These attributes will no doubt be crucial for a Bulls team that has made the playoffs just once in the last 9 seasons.
Many analysts have claimed that Wilson has one of the highest potentials in the 2026 NBA Draft class, and he will now be eager to get the ball rolling in Chicago.
Wilson will be joining a talented Bulls roster that features Josh Giddey, Matas Buzelis, Collin Sexton, and Patrick Williams.
