Coco Gauff Attends FKA Twigs’ Berlin Show And Calls It ‘Insane’ In Surprise Night Out

Gauff is in the German capital, and she was seen hitting the practice courts to find her footing on the fresh turf before the Berlin Open. The tournament’s official social media team had posted a clip of her training to welcome the two-time Grand Slam champion.

Gauff shared clips from her evening on social media, including a video of FKA Twigs performing on stage, captioning the moment an “outer body experience…” A follow-up clip featured a wider shot of the stage, showing Twigs alongside her backup dancers. Gauff tagged the location as Berlin, Germany, and captioned it, “@fkatwigs insane.”

For those unfamiliar, FKA Twigs (real name: Tahliah Debrett Barnett) is a British singer-songwriter, producer, and dancer. Her work draws on R&B, avant-pop, trip-hop, and electronic music. Gauff caught Twigs on the Berlin stop of her “Body High Tour,” following the artist’s recent albums “Eusexua” and “Eusexua Afterglow.” Twigs’ live shows are renowned for their unique choreography and cinematic storytelling, and Gauff was clearly enjoying it.

The American has a 26–10 record so far this year, reaching two WTA 1000 finals (Miami and Rome). At the Australian Open, she reached the quarterfinals but lost to 31-year-old Elina Svitolina, who also defeated her in Rome. In the Miami Open final, she was runner-up to world No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka. And just two weeks ago, Gauff had a third-round exit at the French Open by Anastasia Potapova, who edged her out in three sets: 4-6, 7-6(1), 6-4.

After the match in Paris, Gauff revealed candidly, “I feel like I’m practicing well, and when the moments get there, I’m not quite translating that. It’s just a learning experience, and hopefully, when I’m in this position again, I can make better decisions.”

After Paris, she also dropped in the WTA rankings to world No. 7. Next up, with Berlin and Wimbledon, she will be looking to bounce back into the top 5. The Berlin Open qualifiers are already underway, and Gauff is scheduled to play her opening match on Wednesday, June 17.
