Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese continue to script the league record books at an exhausting pace.
Clark carved up the Golden State Valkyries’ defense on Thursday night to reach 500 career assists in record time. Not long after, Reese followed, dominating the glass against the Portland Fire to secure her 900th career rebound on Friday to reach another milestone.
Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese Continue to Elevate WNBA Standards
Clark entered Thursday’s road matchup against Golden State needing just 3 assists to reach 500 for her career and wasted zero time hitting the mark. The Fever star recorded her 500th assist in her 59th career game, shattering the previous record.
Despite the Indiana Fever dropping to 4-3 on the season following the razor-thin 90-88 loss to Golden State, Clark continues to elevate the ceiling for a franchise holding championship ambitions.

Reese answered Clark’s historic Thursday with a milestone performance of her own on Friday night. The Atlanta Dream star pulled down 12 rebounds in an 86-66 blowout win over the Portland Fire and became the fastest player in WNBA history to reach 900 career rebounds (71 games).

The Chicago Sky traded Reese to Atlanta in April after a rocky end to their partnership, during which Reese expressed frustration with the Sky’s losing culture.
Chicago acquired multiple future first-round draft picks in exchange for the two-time All-Star.
The change of scenery unlocked a new level of success for the rebounding machine. Reese has transformed Atlanta into one of the best rebounding teams in the league.
Within hours of each other this week, the 2024 draft class headliners hit historic career milestones, with social media barely able to keep up with each shattered milestone.

“Nobody’s doing it like her, and that’s why everybody’s so shook. That’s why they salivate over any error. That’s why they lie on her name. GOAT sh*t,” one user said.

Clark looks to have improved her offensive engine in her third season. The Fever superstar currently averages 22.5 points and 8.5 assists per game and leads all guards in usage rate.
Reese, meanwhile, has her own statistical dominance on the floor this season, averaging 11 rebounds, 13.1 points, and 3.3 assists per game.
Clark will suit up again this weekend to lead the Fever into a crucial road test against Portland.
On the other hand, Reese will look to protect home court when Atlanta hosts the Connecticut Sun on Tuesday.
