After signing former Pro Bowl quarterback Kyler Murray and veteran wide receiver Jauan Jennings, the Minnesota Vikings now have a surplus of offensive weapons.
Jennings’ arrival in particular could make other pass-catchers on the roster more expendable, with PFSN’s Jacob Infante predicting that Jordan Addison could be on the move.
Vikings Predicted To Trade $13.7M Star This Offseason
In an article outlining one trade candidate for every NFL team, Infante predicted that the fourth-year wide receiver is the name to watch for Minnesota.
“Rather than continue to improve in Year 3, Jordan Addison saw his production drop in 2025, finishing with a career-low 71.0 PFSN WR Impact Score and posting career-low numbers in receptions, receiving yards, and touchdowns.
“He missed three games due to suspension last year, and he was arrested for trespassing in January. His drop in production and off-field concerns could make him a trade candidate for the Minnesota Vikings.”
As Infante noted, Addison failed to take the third-year leap many expected. After serving his three-game suspension, Addison appeared in each of the remaining 14 games, but managed just 42 receptions for 610 yards and 3 receiving touchdowns.
Comparatively, during his rookie campaign in 2023, he hauled in 70 passes for 911 and 10 scores. The 2024 campaign featured more of the same, recording 63 catches, 875 yards, and 10 total touchdowns across 15 contests.
Between missing the first few games of the season and inconsistent quarterback play throughout much of the year, it’s understandable that Addison struggled to find his rhythm in the offense.
Still, there are plenty of reasons to believe the Vikings could consider trading Addison this offseason. The Vikings recently made the difficult decision to pick up Addison’s fifth-year option. As a former first-round pick, the 24-year-old is on a four-year contract worth $13,731,739, according to Spotrac. He will earn just $2,622,510 in 2026, but his salary will increase to $18,000,000 in 2027 on his fifth-year option.
However, with Minnesota potentially needing to pay Murray as soon as next offseason, and already allocating $35 million annually to Justin Jefferson, the team may not have the financial flexibility to offer Addison a long-term extension. Trading him could be the Vikings’ best opportunity to get value in return.
Regardless of whether a trade happens before the start of the season, the Vikings’ offense should be extremely dangerous entering 2026. Murray is expected to provide a major upgrade at quarterback, while Jefferson continues to lead the receiving corps alongside Jennings and returning playmakers T.J. Hockenson, Jordan Mason, and Aaron Jones.
The Vikings’ offense and the situation surrounding Addison will certainly be worth monitoring as the offseason rolls on.
