‘I’m So Disappointed’ — NFL World Calls Out Jaxson Dart As Giants Star Introduces President Donald Trump in New York

Giants QB Jaxson Dart introduced President Trump at a New York rally, and it sparked backlash from the NFL world on social media.

New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart took the stage at a campaign rally in New York on Friday evening to introduce President Donald Trump. Dart led the crowd in a Giants “Go big blue!” chant before telling the audience it was “an honor” and a “privilege” to be there.

The appearance was Dart’s most visible political moment to date, and as expected, it generated a strong reaction on social media.

Jaxson Dart’s Donald Trump Endorsement Sparks Backlash for Giants QB

The response across social media was swift and polarized. Multiple people voiced frustration with Dart’s involvement in politics.

“I’m so disappointed,” SM Highlights wrote on X about Dart.

“Utah-born Ole Miss grad, fork found in most expected kitchen ever,” Carter Donnick wrote about the reasoning behind Dart endorsing a Republican president.

“Jaxson Dart is a mid-tier quarterback with very little talent! his arm is almost as bad as his political instincts!” Chris Mowrey said on X. “Perhaps he should find a new organization! Thankfully, I am becoming an Eagles football fan, and my quarterback, Jalen “Super Bowl MVP,” Hurts (which very few people can say) would never do such a terrible thing!”

“Gross,” Cam Miller wrote on X after seeing the video of Dart with Trump.

“Welp. So much for Jaxson Dart being cool because he was a Star Wars fan!” Yahoo Sports’ Mike Kennedy said.

However, not everyone was triggered by Dart introducing Trump. “Giants fans are about to get emotional about this for absolutely ZERO reason,” Anthony said on X. “Get over it. Just like you have opinions and views, so does he, and at the end of the day, WHO CARES. GO GIANTS!”

Whenever professional athletes publicly align with a political figure, such reactions are usually expected, as people hold differing views and align with different political ideologies.

Whether it’s a quarterback endorsing a Republican president or any player supporting a Democratic candidate, blending sports and politics often alienates fans who view sports as an escape from the real world.

Whatever fans think about Dart’s politics, the football side of his 2026 offseason deserves more attention. The Giants hired Super Bowl champion head coach John Harbaugh in January after firing Brian Daboll midseason, and the organization has invested heavily in surrounding Dart with talent.

New York used the fifth overall pick on Ohio State linebacker Arvell Reese, added Miami offensive lineman Francis Mauigoa in the draft, and signed tight end Isaiah Likely in free agency. General manager Joe Schoen received a multi-year extension, which aligns the front office and coaching staff on the same timeline for the first time in years.

Dart showed enough in his rookie season to justify the investment. The 25th overall pick of the 2025 NFL Draft completed 63.7% of his passes for 2,272 yards with 15 touchdown passes and just five interceptions across 14 games, adding 487 rushing yards and nine rushing touchdowns in his rookie season.

According to PFSN’s QB Impact Metric, he posted an impact score of 76.3 last season, ranking 14th in the league. He hopes to build on that under Harbaugh and, like his head coach, will receive the support of President Trump.
