Jannik Sinner continued his bid to make more history and complete the Career Golden Masters on Friday during his Italian Open semifinal against Daniil Medvedev. The 24-year-old had some special support at the match as he looked to continue his dominant run on the ATP Tour.
Jannik Sinner’s Family, Girlfriend Cheer Him On in Italian Open Semifinal
As Sinner battled Medvedev in the Italian Open semifinals, he was once again cheered on by his parents, Siglinde and Hanspiter. The two were in the four-time Grand Slam champion’s box alongside his brother Mark, who was also present at his quarterfinal match against Andrey Rublev on Thursday.
After defeating Rublev, Sinner had a conversation with Italian soccer legend Paolo Maldini. He told his compatriot that his mom sometimes leaves his matches when they become too stressful.
“When she sees that the match is not stressful, she stays. Then when it’s too much she leaves,” he said.
In addition, Sinner’s girlfriend, Laila Hasanovic, was also in the stands for the crunch Italian Open semifinal. The social media content creator arrived in Rome prior to the semifinals and was in Sinner’s box on Friday.

Hasanovic and Sinner began dating last year, with the latter publicly confirming their relationship after his triumph at the Vienna Open in October. She has often been seen in the stands at his matches, including at the Monte-Carlo Masters, where he defeated Carlos Alcaraz in the final and claimed the world No. 1 ranking.
Sinner is in the midst of a career-best run on the ATP Tour heading into the French Open. He broke the record for most consecutive wins at ATP Masters 1000 tournaments in the quarterfinals of the Italian Open by defeating Andrey Rublev.
That was Sinner’s 32nd straight victory at a Masters tournament. He has also won the last five Masters tournaments, and has his sights set on adding yet another title to his tally in Rome.

Sinner is now looking to reach the Italian Open final, where Casper Ruud would stand in his way. The Italian won the first set of his semifinal against Medvedev 6-2 but lost the second set 5-7 despite overcoming a 0-3 deficit. This is the first time Sinner has lost a set at the 2026 Italian Open.
Play was later suspended for the day with Sinner 4-2 up in the deciding set. The two players will return on Saturday to conclude the semifinal.
