The hit Netflix series “Quarterback” is returning for a third season, which is set to release on July 14. This time, the QBs featured will be Washington Commanders star Jayden Daniels, Cincinnati Bengals veteran Joe Flacco, Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan-favorite Baker Mayfield, and Tennessee Titans No. 1 overall pick Cam Ward. After Netflix announced this year’s group, the NFL world had some mixed feelings.
NFL World Reacts to Baker Mayfield, Jayden Daniels, Cam Ward, Joe Flacco on ‘Quarterback’
Super Bowl champion Tyler Polumbus, who played offensive tackle in the NFL, wasn’t a fan of this cast, saying, “Well that sounds like as uninspiring of a group as they could get…”
“At least they got Mayfield…..snooze fest….” he later added.

One influencer echoed this sentiment, noting there is only “1 Super Bowl ring in this group of QBs.” Others pointed out that all four of these QBs all missed the playoffs last season, so there won’t be any postseason action in season three of “Quarterback.”
While there was some negativity, the majority of reactions were positive.
DraftKings chimed in, stating, “Oh yeah… this is gonna be the best one yet.”
“Oh I’m all in on this. Feels like a good mix,” one user wrote. “You got an older vet QB who’s seen it all & accomplished a lot, a younger but still veteran QB who also has seen a lot & had a great comeback, a younger player who’s coming into his own, & a new guy w/ a lot of promise & expectations.”
CBS News Colorado’s Romi Bean added that she will be reactivating her Netflix subscription after this announcement.

“Should be worth watching,” added Troy Renck, a columnist at The Denver Post.
Another influencer stated, “Wait this is an electric lineup… We WILL be watching.”
What to Expect in Season 3 of Netflix’s ‘Quarterback’
Each of these four quarterbacks had a bumpy ride last season, to say the least. After winning the NFL’s Offensive Rookie of the Year Award, Daniels dealt with several injuries that limited him throughout his sophomore campaign.
Mayfield was excellent in the first half of the season and earned some NFL MVP buzz before injuries limited him in the second half of the campaign. Mayfield played through his injuries, but he struggled mightily in the second half of the season, ranking as the 24th-ranked signal-caller in PFSN’s NFL QB Impact metric. Unfortunately, Tampa Bay lost four of its final five games, missing the playoffs for the first time since 2019.
Flacco, an 18-year veteran, was traded midseason from the Cleveland Browns to the Cincinnati Bengals, where he attempted to keep the Bengals’ season afloat amid Joe Burrow’s injury.
Meanwhile, Ward didn’t have it easy in his first professional season, as an inconsistent supporting cast and the firing of Titans head coach Brian Callahan heavily impacted his performance.
