Medvedev vs Landaluce Head-to-Head Record

This will be the first meeting between these two players on the ATP Tour, and it comes amid Landaluce’s impressive breakthrough run. The 20-year-old will be playing his second Masters quarterfinal of the year on Thursday, and has made it this far without dropping a set in the main draw.

Landaluce was beaten by Andrea Pellegrino in three sets in qualifying, but was awarded a lucky-loser spot. He has made the most of his opportunity and defeated Hamad Medjedovic in the last round.

Medvedev had a poor start to the clay-court swing as he suffered a double bagel in Monte-Carlo. His performances have improved since, but he was sent packing by Flavio Cobolli in Madrid and was given a scare by Pablo Llamas Ruiz in the third round in Rome.

The 30-year-old did showcase his quality against Tirante in the fourth round, dominating proceedings en route to a 6-3, 6-2 win.

Medvedev vs Landaluce Prediction and Pick

The Italian Open is the only clay-court title Medvedev has won in his career. He will take confidence from his 2023 triumph in Rome as he looks to defeat the highly-rated Landaluce on Thursday.

Landaluce is a very capable player and trained at the Rafa Nadal Tennis Academy. The Madrid native has a decent clay-court pedigree, even though he has had more success on hard courts so far in his fledgling career.

Medvedev dominated proceedings on his serve in the last round, saving 5 of 6 break-point opportunities and hitting just 16 unforced errors. He also hit 21 winners in that match, and his defensive counter-punching skills could be crucial against the attack-minded Spaniard.

Meanwhile, Landaluce will hope that Medvedev has one of those days on clay where he does not seem to want to be on the court.
