Caitlin Clark wowed the WNBA world with her performance for the Indiana Fever against Paige Bueckers and the Dallas Wings.

Caitlin Clark put on a show on Saturday as she dominated proceedings in the Indiana Fever’s season opener against Paige Bueckers and the Dallas Wings. The two-time WNBA All-Star caught the eye with her performance, but Bueckers had the last laugh as the Wings claimed a 107-104 win.

Clark scored 20 points on 7-of-18 shooting and also chipped in with 7 assists and 5 rebounds to lead the charge for the Fever. A fan account shared a highlight of the Iowa Hawkeyes alum’s behind-the-back assist for Myisha Hines-Allen in the third quarter as the Fever attempted a comeback.

Christine Brennan, writer of “ON HER GAME: Caitlin Clark,” said that there are few players in men’s or women’s basketball who can dominate games like the 24-year-old.

“When Caitlin Clark catches fire and plays like this, it’s as good as it gets in any sport, men’s or women’s,” she wrote.


Basketball writer Robin Lundberg felt that Bueckers simply couldn’t keep up with Clark throughout the game.

“Paige Bueckers can not stay in front of Caitlin Clark. Clark blows past her every time,” he wrote.

A Clark fan account shared another highlight of the Fever guard scoring a catch-and-shoot three-pointer over Bueckers.

They also shared Clark’s stats from her dominant third quarter, where she got the Fever back on level terms.

“Caitlin Clark in the 3rd quarter: 10 points (83% ts) 2 assists 0 turnovers She’s back,” they wrote.

Clark brought the Fever back on level terms with a stunning spin and lay-up as Wings defenders struggled to keep pace with her.

“CAITLIN CLARK WITH THE SPIN AND THE BUCKET OH MY,” they wrote.

Clark also reached the 1000-point milestone in the WNBA during the Fever’s season opener on Saturday. She became the eighth player to achieve the feat in 54 games or fewer. In addition, she became the fastest player to record 1000+ points, 250+ rebounds, and 250+ assists in the WNBA.

After suffering a narrow defeat at home in their first game of the season, the Indiana Fever will return to WNBA action on Wednesday when they take on the Los Angeles Sparks at the Crypto.com Arena.
