While other head coaches are involved in rebuilding their squads and grinding through the offseason, Lane Kiffin is doing what he is best at: trolling rival fans and stirring plots on social media. It seems he has now dragged Joe Burrow into a humorous ploy.
How LSU Head Coach Lane Kiffin Is Trolling Joe Burrow on Social Media
Kiffin turned to his X handle as he replied to the recent vacation photo shared by Whit Weeks and Sam Leavitt. Interestingly, their image of enjoying a vacation in Turks and Caicos was shared by Landry Kiffin on her Instagram handle.
Instead of tagging Leavitt, the LSU head coach leaned directly into the uncanny physical resemblance between Leavitt and the 2019 Heisman winner.
Kiffin wrote, “@JoeyB and @WeeksWhit on vaca 😎 @LSUfootball”

It’s a masterful bit of lookalike trolling that serves a dual purpose: keeping LSU in the headlines and subtly reminding the world that the Joe Cool aura has a new heir apparent in Baton Rouge.
This isn’t an isolated incident. Kiffin’s X feed has been a goldmine of SEC drama in early 2026. Just recently, he sparked speculation as he posted a photo of MAGA-inspired LSU hats and tagged Donald Trump, though he later deleted it.
As we move toward the fall, the expectations for Kiffin’s LSU Tigers are sky-high, but they come with significant hurdles. After a 2025 season that saw the Tigers finish at a somewhat disappointing 7-6, the pressure is on to return to the College Football Playoff conversation.
For Kiffin, the primary mission this offseason was fixing a defense that surrendered 19.8 points per game in 2025. To achieve that, LSU brought in a massive haul of portal talent, headlined by a $4 million splash on offensive tackle Jordan Seaton.
In addition, Sam Leavitt enters 2026 as the undisputed starter despite a Lisfranc surgery that sidelined him for the latter half of spring. In 2025, Leavitt was electric before his injury, completing 145 of 239 passes (60.7%) for 1,628 yards and 10 touchdowns in just seven games.
The biggest challenge for 2026 is consistency. While the Tigers’ offense has the firepower to match anyone, the co-defensive coordinator setup featuring Blake Baker and Chris Kiffin must gel immediately. The schedule is a gauntlet, featuring a high-stakes rematch against an Ole Miss team that is coming off a massive 13-2 season and a Sugar Bowl victory over Georgia.
Currently, PFSN’s CFB Playoff Meter gives the Tigers a 39.2% chance to make the CFP and a 3.5% chance to win the national championship.
