‘Keep an Eye’ — NFL Insider Hints at Possibility of Rams Trading for $106.5M All-Pro

Who could the Rams target to bolster their roster even further? Find out more about the superstar who could bust the NFC West right open.

Sean McVay and the Los Angeles Rams suffered a devastating 31-27 loss to the Seattle Seahawks in the NFC Championship Game last season. Despite sporting one of, if not the most loaded roster in pro football, McVay and company couldn’t reach the Super Bowl. Now, in an aggressive bid for revenge, the front office is expected to leave no stone unturned; however, who could they acquire to bolster the roster?

Rams Could Pursue Raiders EDGE Maxx Crosby in the Future

Las Vegas Raiders pass rusher Maxx Crosby saw an extended storyline of his own this offseason. Having been expected to move on from Vegas before the 2026 season, speculation came crashing down when the Baltimore Ravens abruptly backed out of a deal.

Crosby has reportedly since mended fences with Vegas and is projected to spend more time in the city. However, The Athletic’s Nate Atkins is convinced the elite pass rusher still might not don a Raiders jersey for long.

Atkins recently linked Crosby to the Rams, citing the team’s win-now approach given its roster construction.

“I’d also keep an eye on Maxx Crosby,” he wrote. “He seems to have mended things with the Las Vegas Raiders after the trade to the Baltimore Ravens was reversed, but the organization’s approach could change if the Raiders hit another tough start to a season.”

Crosby finds himself as another star playing on a team that’s usually nowhere near Super Bowl contention. According to PFSN’s Offense Impact Metric, the Raiders’ offense posted a 56.3 impact score last season, which ranked second-worst in the league. They did draft Fernando Mendoza, but how good he’ll turn out to be, remains to be seen.

After securing as much money as possible, players usually turn their focus to legacy, and Crosby might very well have reached that point in his career.

“The Rams want to be one of the rare teams willing to trade from an expectedly loaded 2027 draft class, with the idea that they’ll be picking at the very end of the first round,” Atkins wrote. “But those conversations are more likely in October than they are right now.”

Crosby will be joining a surefire Super Bowl contender if a move west materializes. The Rams have a loaded defense, which they bolstered even further this offseason. On the defensive line, they have Poona Ford, Byron Young, and Jared Verse. Backing them up are DBs Quentin Lake, Kamren Curl, Trent McDuffie, and Jaylen Watson.

Adding a specimen like Crosby, who is on a three-year, $106.5 milliion deal, to the mix could see the unit top most categories next season. However, as Atkins alluded to, it might only happen later in the campaign.
