Carlos Alcaraz’s Younger Brother’s Match Point Garners Attention From Patrick Mouratoglou

Alcaraz kicked off his 2026 season on a positive note, securing titles at both the Australian Open and the Qatar Open. After taking home the title at Melbourne Park, the Spanish star became the youngest player to complete the Career Grand Slam at the age of 22, having previously won the two French Open titles, two US Open titles, and two Wimbledon Championships.

His younger brother, Jaime, is also following in his footsteps. He made his mark by winning the U-12 division of the Rafa Nadal Tour event in Madrid in July 2023. He has also been invited twice to the IMG Future Stars Invitational Tournament, which features the 48 best youth male and female players from around the globe. More recently, he won the Murcia U-15 Challenger title.

The young talent’s stunning match-point skills to win the trophy piqued Mouratoglou’s interest. The former coach of WTA legend Serena Williams recently shared his thoughts on Jaime, underscoring his admiration for the sport he displays through his game.

Mouratoglou mentions, “What we’re watching at the moment is the little brother of Carlos Alcaraz playing a match point. Not only the match point is unbelievable, but also it shows the same type of qualities as Carlos. What we can really feel when we watch Carlos is this huge enjoyment of playing tennis. And we feel the same with his brother.”

The coach continued highlighting how Alcaraz’s and Jaime’s situations differ from those of the Williams sisters. He shared, “I think there is nothing more difficult than to be the brother of Carlos Alcaraz when you’re a tennis player. It was different for Serena and Venus because they were almost the same age. There was one year difference, so they were growing together. Carlos is already number one in the world; he’s already a superstar.”

Furthermore, Mouratoglou expressed, “So for his brother to try to go the same path, I think it’s going to be very difficult. And he’s going to be the brother of Alcaraz all his life as a tennis player. I think it’s courageous to try to go the same way.”

Coming on to his court action at the Barcelona Open, Alcaraz is set to clash against Czech talent Tomáš Macháč in the round of 16, with the duo having a head-to-head of 1-1.
