Super Bowl 59 winners, the Philadelphia Eagles, are in a dicey situation, to say the least. After plenty of drama and headlines, star wide receiver A.J. Brown continues to surface in trade rumors. Reporters won’t stop questioning general manager Howie Roseman about a possible deal, and he’s clearly fed up. But the speculation isn’t going anywhere, and now an NFL analyst is warning the Eagles against trading Brown.
Why Trading A.J. Brown Could Ruin the Eagles’ Super Bowl 61 Dreams
On “The Rich Eisen Show,” Rich Eisen broke down what Brown means to Philly’s roster and why it doesn’t make sense for the Eagles to consider trading the superstar wideout.
Getting straight to the point, Eisen copied what Roseman said during his presser.
“A.J. Brown’s an Eagle. Because A.J. Brown is an Eagle, and he’s not going anywhere until June 1, or he’s not going anywhere at all, which is exactly what would make sense if you’re trying to win a Super Bowl for the Philadelphia Eagles with the roster they currently have otherwise.
“It would be highly difficult, or at least the odds of winning it all would be great, greater with him, and less without him. He’s that good. That’s why you want him.”

Brown ranked 21st in PFSN’s WR Impact metric for last season. He totaled 78 catches for 1,003 yards and 7 TDs.
While this was a down year for Brown given his past production (including a career-high 1,496 receiving yards and 11 TDs in his first season with Philly back in 2022), there’s no debating that Brown is still an elite WR. He has topped 1,000 receiving yards and 7 scores in every season he’s been in Philadelphia.
And while the team has brought in players like Dontayvion Wicks, Hollywood Brown, and Elijah Moore, none can replace Brown’s production or exact role.
Eisen spoke about the Los Angeles Rams’ interest in acquiring Brown.
“That’s why the Rams were interested in getting him. The fact that the Rams even kicked tires on him to the point where they were having to tell Davante Adams something afterwards means there is a there there,” Eisen said. “I get that. But there’s no there, there, until after June 1, number one, and then after that, you have to ask the question, ‘How is this team better without him? How is that possible?'”

Eisen believes the Eagles should start the season with Brown, DeVonta Smith, Wicks, Hollywood, and Moore.
“You keep A.J. Brown and you have all of them, and that is a hell of a full wide receiver set,” Eisen said.
It remains to be seen what Roseman and the Eagles will do, but it’s certainly hard to argue with Eisen’s point that the best version of Philly is one with Brown on the roster.
