Coco Gauff is hard at work preparing for the European clay-court season at the Stuttgart Open, but she is still finding time to interact with her loyal supporters. When a fan went online to ask the American tennis star to win another Grand Slam title, Gauff offered a very honest response.
What Coco Gauff Promised Fan About Her Next Grand Slam
On Sunday, Gauff posted a TikTok video about her skincare routine. A fan, so eager to see the young superstar lift another major trophy, asked a direct question: “can we get a grand slam now pls?”
Gauff replied in her trademark down-to-earth style: “I’ll try my best lolll.”
The expectations on her for this year’s clay swing are higher than ever, especially as she is currently the defending French Open champion. The world No. 3 arrives in Germany fresh off a deep run at the 2026 Miami Open in late March, where she reached the final but ultimately fell to Aryna Sabalenka in a three-setter (6-2, 4-6, 6-3).
Her reaction to the loss was so grounded. “It is a mindset shift, because obviously, as soon as you lose a final, it’s tough. I’m, like, thinking about — you could see on the bench before, I was just thinking about the match and replaying all the points. Then after it’s over, you just learn from it,” the 22-year-old said.

“Yeah, I’m grateful, because I didn’t think to be here and I’m here, and I know I can repeat this and come home with a bigger trophy, and I feel confident in that.” And that must be what any fan would love to hear.
2025 was a good campaign for the American as she captured her first Roland Garros singles title, making her a two-time Grand Slam champion. The WTA 1000 hard-court title in the fall followed, and she also reached the finals of WTA 1000 tournaments in Madrid and Rome. This year, she has yet to bag a trophy, losing to Elina Svitolina in the Australian Open quarter-finals and to Elisabetta Cocciaretto in the second round of the Qatar Open.
In Stuttgart, the top four seeds, Elena Rybakina, Gauff, Iga Swiatek, and Elina Svitolina, will have a first-round bye. With world No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka withdrawing to focus on recovery from an injury, Gauff has been bumped to the No. 2 seed. Gauff will open her campaign in the Round of 16 against either Liudmila Samsonova or Antonia Ruzic.
Once Stuttgart wraps up, the tour immediately shifts into the massive 1000-level tournaments, including the Madrid Open and the Rome Masters, followed by the French Open in Paris.
