Kadyn Proctor’s Fate Takes a Turn As NFL Executive Issues Bold Draft Verdict

Kadyn Proctor faces a major shift in his draft stock after an NFL executive issued a bold top five verdict on the Alabama star.

Former Alabama Crimson Tide offensive lineman Kadyn Proctor boosted his draft stock with an impressive performance at the team’s pro day on March 25. Proctor distinguished himself as one of the best offensive tackles in the country last season and has been predicted to be a potential first-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft in several mock drafts.

NFL Executive Predicts Top-Five Pick for Kadyn Proctor

On Wednesday, ESPN reporter Jeremy Fowler revealed on X that an NFL executive believes that Proctor’s athleticism merits the former Alabama standout being picked in the top five of the 2026 NFL Draft.

“He’s a clean left tackle with elite size and foot quickness. That will get him drafted high,” the NFL executive reportedly said.

Proctor was the No. 1-ranked offensive tackle and the No. 5-ranked overall prospect in the class of 2023. He initially committed to the Iowa Hawkeyes before flipping to the Crimson Tide, but he transferred back to Iowa in January 2024 after coach Nick Saban’s shock retirement.

A few months later, Proctor entered the transfer portal and transferred back to Alabama to play under coach Kalen DeBoer for two seasons before declaring for the NFL Draft. He was part of an inconsistent Crimson Tide offensive line that earned a PFSN College Offensive Line Impact score of 78.7 last season.

In his latest top-25 Big Board ranking, ESPN draft guru Mel Kiper Jr. hyped Proctor’s improvement last season and ranked him as the No. 14 best prospect in the 2026 NFL Draft class.

“If you only watched Proctor against Florida State, you’d have questions about this ranking.” Kiper wrote. “He allowed seven pressures and a sack in that season opener, and he took a false start penalty on an important fourth-and-1 late in the game. Not a good start to the campaign. But after that, Proctor looked very good.

“He consistently handled inside and outside moves from edge rushers as he settled in. Proctor had 40 starts of experience, with every career snap over three years coming at left tackle. And he showed off good agility for his size at the combine with a 5.21-second run in the 40.”

Proctor caught the eyes of scouts and NFL executives at the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis in February, clocking 5.21 seconds in the 40-yard dash, 32.5 inches in the vertical jump, and a 9-foot-1 broad jump.

Proctor is part of a talented offensive tackle draft class and will compete with former Miami Hurricanes star Francis Mauigoa and Utah Utes duo Spencer Fano and Caleb Lomu to be the first offensive tackle off the board on draft night.
