Rams Floated As Trade Destination for Ex-LSU WR After Failed A.J. Brown Pursuit

The Los Angeles Rams are floated as a trade destination for Brian Thomas Jr. after missing out on adding A.J. Brown.

The Los Angeles Rams fell just short of making it back to the Super Bowl. Falling in the NFC Championship Game, they were neck and neck with the Seattle Seahawks all year long. Now, they need a path to take that next step.

With Matthew Stafford returning, they’ve had an aggressive offseason with a blockbuster trade to bring in Trent McDuffie. They had some interest in adding to their wide receiver room with A.J. Brown, but that didn’t materialize. Instead, one analyst has a different wide receiver in mind for their offense.

The Los Angeles Rams’ Backup Plan After Missing Out on A.J. Brown

Despite the offense’s success, which finished as the No. 1 unit on PFSN’s Offense Impact, the Rams walked into the offseason hoping to make some additions to take it to another level altogether.

That materialized in the form of a trial to add Brown to the roster after the superstar wide receiver was disgruntled all season long with the Philadelphia Eagles. Unfortunately, no trade materialized, and he has remained with the organization, at least for the time being.

Los Angeles, though, has had to deal with some unique adversity to its offense. Discounting the obvious age factor with their quarterback, questionable behavior from Puka Nacua, the No. 1-ranked player on PFSN’s WR Impact, has landed him in rehab.

As a result, there are legitimate questions about his status and mental well-being heading into the summer. That could make their pursuit of another A-list wide receiver all the more important, with Gary Davenport of Bleacher Report having the Rams as a potential landing spot for Brian Thomas Jr.

“Adding Thomas to the wideout corps in Los Angeles would give the Rams a terrifying trio of pass-catchers in the short-term and a potential replacement for Adams in the long-term — one the Rams don’t necessarily need to cut a fat check to for some time.”

A spectacular rookie for the Jacksonville Jaguars, his numbers took a noticeable dip in 2025, as he finished at No. 71 on PFSN’s WR Impact.

But his downfall may have been the result of a new offense under head coach Liam Coen and a multitude of other mouths to feed.

With two years remaining on his rookie deal, which accounts for a cap hit of less than $9 million in total, he could be the ideal piece for Los Angeles, especially after an expensive offseason for the franchise in hopes of improving the roster.
