Sinner vs. Macháč: Head-to-Head History

Sinner leads the head‑to‑head against Macháč 3–0 in their professional encounters, winning all three meetings without dropping a set. The last time they met was in Doha earlier this year, which the Italian won 6-1, 6-4.

Sinner blitzed through the American hard-court swing with precision and established himself as the most in-form player on the ATP Tour. Sinner’s consecutive winning streak at Indian Wells and Miami looked like a routine practice session.

The transition to clay often trips up top players early in the spring. However, Sinner showed no signs of jitteriness, blazing past Ugo Humbert 6-3, 6-0 in just 64 minutes to progress through to the third round. It was an 18th successive Masters 1000 win for the Italian, who has now won 36 consecutive sets at that level.

Macháč has had a strong initial run at the Monte-Carlo Masters so far. He defeated Daniel Altmaier of Germany 6–4, 1–6, 6–3 in the first round before knocking out 16th‑seeded Francisco Cerúndolo 7–6(2), 6–3 in one hour and 49 minutes. This is Macháč’s biggest win this year, and he will enter the contest against Sinner riding high on confidence.

Sinner vs. Macháč: Match Prediction

Sinner, 24, is heavily favored to beat Macháč in the third round and progress through to the next round. His return depth, backhand stability, and better movement on clay make him likely to control rallies and limit Macháč’s chances from the baseline.

Macháč, who has a 14-14 win-loss record on clay, is still adapting to the surface this year. He will have to be at his best if he has to give himself a chance of pulling an upset.

They have yet to play each other on clay, but given Sinner’s overall experience and 66-24 record on this surface, he is tipped to emerge victorious in straight sets.
