Texans Predicted To Pair Nico Collins With 6-Foot-5 ‘Freakish’ WR in 2026 NFL Draft

A new mock draft predicts the Houston Texans will pair Nico Collins with 6-foot-5 Tennessee wide receiver Chris Brazzell II.

The Houston Texans have been a strong franchise in recent years. They are one of several AFC teams to have won at least one playoff game over the past three years. This is mainly due to their dominant defense; however, their offense could reach that level, especially if they land this wide receiver in the draft.

Why Chris Brazzell II Fits Perfectly With the Texans

Tennessee Volunteer wideout Chris Brazzell II is projected to go to the Houston Texans at pick 69 in PFSN’s Jacob Infante’s mock draft for a couple of reasons. First, Brazzell has an incredible frame; as Infante said, “Brazzell II is a 6-foot-5 serious threat.” Having a big target could be helpful for quarterback C.J. Stroud.

Stroud had a solid regular season; however, he did not play well in the playoffs, throwing for 2 touchdowns and 5 interceptions. A lot of Stroud’s bad plays were misses or overthrows.

So, having a big target for Stroud should help him course-correct some of the mistakes he made late last season. Brazzell could also pair well with Nico Collins. Collins has been one of the league’s best wideouts, and last year was no different as he got a B grade and ranked 12th according to PFSN’s Wide Receiver Impact Metric.

Collins can do it all, as he has some of the best combinations of speed and size in the league, similar to Brazzell. “(Brazzell has) a freakish combination of size and speed,” as Infante stated. So, Collins and Brazzell could create one of the best receiving tandems in the league if Brazzell pans out.

With Brazzell’s speed, he could also be lethal in the play-action game. The Texans’ offensive coordinator is Nick Caley, who comes from the Los Angeles Rams, which runs the play-action scheme a lot.

Brazzell could also absolutely be a huge threat in the play-action game, especially over the middle of the field. He could stretch the field for Houston and open up their offense to a new level.

Houston is also a great development spot for Brazzell. As Infante put it, “He’s raw as a route runner.” So, since Brazzell needs to develop, he is in a spot with the Texans where he does not have to start right away.

Besides Collins, the Texans also have other viable receiving options. When healthy, Tank Dell has been explosive. Jayden Higgins had a good rookie year, averaging 12.8 yards per catch. Dalton Schultz has been a proven, steady veteran tight end for Houston.

So if things do not start well for Brazzell, he could ride the bench for a while and learn from the coaching staff. The Texans’ wide receiver coach is Ben McDaniels, who has years of experience in the NFL and college coaching and has produced good results. So, Brazzell will have a great experienced coach to learn from.

Overall, whether it is this year or next year, if Brazzell pans out, things could look very special for the Texans’ offense. Brazzell could help their offense reach new and exciting heights.
