Aryna Sabalenka claimed the 2026 Miami Open title over Coco Gauff, earning the $1.15 million top prize in the process.

The 2026 Miami Open final saw Aryna Sabalenka and Coco Gauff battle it out for the title in a rematch of last year’s French Open final. Ultimately, it was Sabalenka who came out on top, winning 6-2, 4-6, 6-3 to retain her title. Beyond the title, the two players also earned a significant share of the prize purse of this WTA Tour 1000 event.

Aryna Sabalenka and Coco Gauff’s 2026 Miami Open Prize Money

The Miami Open was the second leg of the Sunshine Double. As is the case every year, this event delivered thrilling matches and big surprises in every round. Iga ÅšwiÄ…tek was sent packing in the second round, while Qinwen Zheng showcased glimpses of her ability after a long injury layoff.

Jessica Pegula continued her run of making the quarterfinals of tournaments, while Talia Gibson continued her breakout year with another impressive run.

In the end, Sabalenka defeated Gauff to win the Miami Open title. The triumph in this prestigious tournament will see Sabalenka take a large chunk of the total prize purse of $9,415,725.

Sabalenka will receive $1,151,380 as the champion. Meanwhile, Gauff will earn $612,340 for finishing as the runner-up.

Beaten semifinalists Elena Rybakina and Karolína Muchová will receive $340,190 for their runs at the Miami Open. Meanwhile, Pegula, Hailey Baptiste, Belinda Bencic, and Victoria Mboko will all earn $193,645 for making the quarterfinals.

In addition, the players who were eliminated in the round of 16 will receive $105,720, and those who reached the third round will earn $61,865 from the tournament’s purse.

Sabalenka will also receive 1,000 WTA ranking points for winning the Miami Open. As the runner-up, Gauff will get 650 points.

Sabalenka enjoyed another remarkable run at the Miami Open. Fresh off her triumph at Indian Wells, the Belarusian made a dominant start to her title defense in Miami by defeating Ann Li in the second round.

The world No. 1 then claimed comfortable wins over Caty McNally and Zheng before dispatching Baptiste in the quarterfinals. Sabalenka then faced longtime nemesis Rybakina in the semifinals and cruised to a 6-4, 6-3 win.

In the final, Sabalenka defeated Gauff to extend her dominance on the WTA Tour and win both events of the Sunshine Double. It did not take long for her to assert her dominance, as she won the first set 6-2. Gauff then came back and won the second set 6-4 before Sabalenka won the third set 6-3 to successfully retain her title.

Following the Miami Open, the WTA Tour turns its attention to the clay-court season. The clay-court swing will begin at the Charleston Open on March 30 before the action moves to Europe with events in Linz, Stuttgart, and more in the lead-up to the French Open.
