Peyton Manning’s son, Marshall Manning, used to be known by his family legacy. However, the hype surrounding Marshall has recently shifted from the son of a legend to a legitimate blue-chip prospect.
Marshall Manning Wows Crowd With Elite Performance at Tennessee Quarterback Event
Marshall is just 14 years old, but he can absolutely launch the football, as shown in one of his recent practice clips. Watching him throw, it is evident he has been a student of the game from an early age, and reactions to his potential have been coming nonstop.
“Peyton Manning’s son Marshall Manning… you can already see it,” former All-American tight end Adam Breneman wrote.
“My current comp is Kyler Murray but there’s definitely room to grow,” wrote Jeff Mueller, a doctor of physical therapy and DL Football contributor.
“Yeah Marshall Manning is going first overall and doesn’t need to play a snap of college football,” Polymarket Football wrote.
The hype around Marshall started to intensify after clips from the Music City Mayhem event circulated online. He displayed a level of composure at the event that’s become synonymous with his family name, throwing receivers open rather than waiting for them to shake coverage. Marshall also went viral earlier for connecting with star wide receivers at the Pro Bowl while still in middle school.

Marshall hasn’t officially started his recruitment, but Ohio State, Georgia, and Tennessee have been mentioned as early possible landing spots. He often joins Peyton at Tennessee games. The Volunteers finished last season with an 87.1 score in the PFSN’s CFB Offense Impact Metrics, ranking ninth nationally.
A return to Rocky Top seems likely, but Marshall’s recruitment is expected to become a national battle for every top program. Attention spiked when he was seen wearing Virginia gear. His mother, Ashley, graduated from the University of Virginia in 1997, suggesting Virginia could also pursue him.
Marshall is currently attending Baylor School in Chattanooga, Tennessee. The private school has a strong athletic tradition, holding the 2025 TSSAA Division II-AAA State Championship, providing him with immediate exposure to elite competition. Being in the 2030 class, his focus is on long-term development rather than immediate college impact.

Marshall is currently unranked due to his age, but he seems to be an elite future quarterback. Comparisons to his cousin and Texas quarterback Arch Manning are already emerging, with some suggesting Marshall’s arm strength and mechanical foundation may even surpass Arch’s at the same age.
Arch is entering what is expected to be his final college season before declaring for the 2027 NFL Draft, where he is projected as the No. 1 overall pick. Already being compared to Arch proves the immense potential for Marshall’s future in college football.
