Fans Complain About Lack of Organization at Miami Open After Rain Cancels Play

There was a lot of anger and frustration vented by fans as Wednesday’s play at the Miami Open was canceled due to rain. However, the thing that irked the fans the most was that they could not enter the stadium despite having tickets. People had to wait in long lines outside in the heavy rain, and in the absence of a clear plan for obtaining refunds, one fan said that the organizers were “unprofessional” and “insane.”

Other fans vented their frustrations after traveling by road and air to attend the prestigious event and watch the top players, only for their tickets to be canceled and not even to be allowed to enter the stadium.

“Flew all the way to Florida for the Miami Open just for our tickets to get canceled and for it to get rained out … ” said one fan.

There was another tweet from a fan who had an eight-hour journey from as far as Chile to come to the Miami Open, only to spend his day outside the stadium in the rain. The individual requested that the authorities grant him access to the outside courts so he could enter the stadium rather than stand in the rain outside. He also made a humble request for a refund of his tickets.
