Jon Scheyer Daughter Noa Steals Show After Duke ACC Tournament Win With ‘How Do You Win?’ Question

Duke's Jon Scheyer told daughter Noa she's 'why I win every game' in a press conference moment that quickly went viral.

Duke Blue Devils coach Jon Scheyer shared a heartwarming moment with his daughter during the postgame conference after his team defeated No. 2-seed Virginia, 74-70. The Blue Devils earned their second consecutive ACC Tournament title and their third tournament victory in Scheyer’s four seasons. The win marked the first time an ACC school has won championship titles in men’s basketball, women’s basketball, and football in the same academic year.

Jon Scheyer Shares Heartfelt Moment with Daughter After ACC Title

In a tighter game than when the teams met two weeks earlier in Duke’s 77-51 home victory, the Blue Devils and the Cavaliers traded baskets late in the second half. The standout performer of the night, Isaiah Evans, scored 20 points and provided a major boost to help the team gain momentum.

Twin brothers Cayden and Cameron Boozer scored 16 and 13 points, respectively, with the former matching his career-high. Freshman Nikolas Khamenia added nine points and six rebounds, and another nine points came from Dame Sarr. The No. 1 team is en route to Selection Sunday, with Duke likely securing the top seed in the NCAA Tournament bracket.

Bringing home his third ACC title in four years and setting a benchmark in the conference, Scheyer was welcomed at the press conference. What stood out for him was a special moment with his daughter, Noa Marie Scheyer, who sat among the press, looking adorable in an ACC Champions cap and a pink T-shirt with “Duke” printed on it. She asked him the best question of the night:

“How do you win every game?”

Responding with a laugh and saying, “I see,” the 38-year-old won hearts when he said that having the best daughter helps fuel his journey to success.

“I win every game because I have the best daughter in the world, that’s how. I love you.”

In the same media interaction, he tipped his hat to Cayden for putting his best foot forward in the first half, playing as an all-rounder. He lightheartedly said that Evans and the other Boozer twin were just “okay” in comparison.

“Honestly, I thought Cayden just completely put us on his back in that first half. The job he did, just running the show, scoring, defending, really doing everything. And to play 40 minutes against Virginia when they’re pressing you the whole game, it was just an incredible performance, man. Cam and Isaiah were just okay, all right.”

Scheyer was also a Blue Devil player during his college days and led the team to the NCAA Basketball Championship in 2010. He joined Duke’s coaching staff in 2013 and was promoted to assistant coach when Steve Wojciechowski left in 2014. In 2022, he succeeded Mike Krzyzewski as head coach and led the team to the ACC title before being eliminated in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
