Rumors in the NFL rarely disappear overnight. They linger, shift shape, and occasionally grow louder when everyone assumes they’ve cooled off. That seems to be the case with A.J. Brown and the Philadelphia Eagles, where speculation about the receiver’s future continues to simmer after the first wave of free agency has come and gone.
A.J. Brown Trade Talks: Los Angeles Rams Enter the Picture
Over the past few weeks, teams have quietly checked in about Brown’s availability. Now, a new layer of intrigue has come forward: the Los Angeles Rams may still be watching the situation closely. And if the reactions from around the league are any indication, the mere thought of Brown landing in Sean McVay’s offense is enough to make the NFL world come alive.
According to Dianna Russini of The Athletic, discussions about a potential Brown trade are not entirely off the table.
In fact, the Rams reportedly explored the possibility of acquiring the wide receiver. Right now, league sources say they have not completely shut the door. Rather, they remain attentive observers of Brown’s situation in Philadelphia.
“We cannot let Sean McVay get AJ Brown. Roger Goodell needs to step in like this is CP3/Lakers,” CBS Sports’ JP Acosta wrote.

“1) Would A.J. Brown be cool with being the #3 WR? 2) If we’re talking about ’27 draft picks, I’d think Philly would “bet” that the Pats would have better picks. 3) LA is willing to take all-in to the extreme or this is Philly trying to regain leverage after the Doubs deal,” podcaster Nick Cattles wrote.

“It would be absolutely cheating if the Rams got A.J Brown…Matthew Stafford, Puka, Davante Adams & A.J Brown???” ESPN’s Chase Daniel said. “If I’m the Patriots…how in the world am I going to allow this to happen. No way I’m allowing A.J Brown to go to Rams….make it happen Pats,” he added.

“Major update here. The Rams are an NFC rival, but they’re also a team that’s been willing to make high-stakes deals. This also shows the market goes beyond New England,” The Athletic’s Zach Berman said.

Despite the outside noise, Philadelphia has not shown any eagerness to move one of its talented offensive weapons, who has a score of 80.9 on the PFSN NFL WR Impact Metric.
General manager Howie Roseman has made a career out of calculated patience, and his stance on Brown appears no different. The Eagles, still in the middle of a championship window, have little interest in parting with a premier player unless the return makes the decision worthwhile.
