Kelsey Plum Hilariously Slams Caitlin Clark’s ‘Selfish’ Move During USA Basketball Training Camp

Caitlin Clark and Kelsey Plum shared a hilarious moment during Team USA training camp in Miami. Read more here.

Caitlin Clark is back on the court and fully healthy. The Indiana Fever guard joined several WNBA stars at the United States women’s national basketball team training camp in Miami as the program prepares for the 2026 FIBA Women’s World Cup Qualifying Tournament in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Clark looked comfortable during the sessions, knocking down deep-range shots and running drills alongside some of the league’s top talent. One moment during practice, however, produced a hilarious reaction from veteran guard Kelsey Plum.

Kelsey Plum Jokes About Caitlin Clark’s Selfish Shot During Practice

During one sequence in practice, Plum positioned herself, expecting to receive a pass from Clark. Instead, the Fever star pulled up for a deep-range shot, something she has become famous for throughout her career.

Plum immediately reacted with a playful comment: “Selfish, that’s selfish,” she said while laughing.

The lighthearted moment quickly caught attention, with both players smiling on the court.

The interaction comes as Clark continues her return after a difficult stretch last year. It has been about 8 months since she last played competitive basketball, after injuries disrupted her 2025 WNBA season. Clark was ruled out in September following an injury-riddled run that included groin injuries and a bone bruise.

Her presence at the Team USA camp marks a major step in returning to full basketball activity.

This training camp also represents the first Team USA appearance for several young stars, including Clark, Paige Bueckers, Angel Reese, and JuJu Watkins. The group is preparing for the World Cup qualifying tournament scheduled from March 11 to March 17.

Plum, meanwhile, brings a wealth of international experience: She is now a nine-year WNBA veteran, a two-time WNBA champion, and a four-time All-Star. The Los Angeles Sparks guard is a two-time Olympic gold medalist, having won titles at Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024, as well as two gold medals at the World Cup.

Earlier, Team USA shared a video showing players arriving at practice. Plum was seen walking in while vibing to music, while Clark followed behind her, but avoided dancing like the veteran guard.

When Plum noticed her teammate, the two shared smiles, and the Sparks star greeted Clark with a playful pinch on the side, which again shows a growing chemistry between the two.

Seeing them laugh and joke together is notable given their brief history.

Plum went viral during the 2025 WNBA All-Star Game when she appeared to take a subtle shot at Team Clark while discussing the players’ “Pay Us What You Owe Us” shirts, mentioning that none of Clark’s All-Star teammates had attended the meeting where the idea was discussed.

Nonetheless, the atmosphere around this camp appears relaxed and positive. Clark remains one of the most popular players in basketball. The Fever guard quickly became a phenomenon after entering the WNBA in 2024, winning Rookie of the Year and earning two All-Star selections while drawing massive fan attention across the league.
