Top Prospect Jordyn Tyson Reflects on ASU Tenure Under Kenny Dillingham Ahead of Pro Day

Jordyn Tyson credits ASU and Kenny Dillingham for changing his career as the top WR prospect prepares ahead of the 2026 NFL Draft.

As the pre-draft process continues for the 2026 NFL Draft, one of the most intriguing wide receiver prospects preparing for his next step is Jordyn Tyson. After appearing at the NFL Scouting Combine 2026 but participating only in the bench press, Tyson’s upcoming pro day at Arizona State carries extra importance.

The workout will give scouts a full look at his speed, agility, and route-running ability while also demonstrating that he has fully recovered from injuries sustained during the 2025 season.

Jordyn Tyson Reflects On His Time With Arizona State

Ahead of the workout, Tyson caught up with sports broadcaster Blake Niemann to reflect on his college journey and the impact Arizona State had on his life.

“Man, it changed my life for the better,” Tyson said. “I can’t thank everybody that I met and talked to. It’s been amazing to look back during this combine process. I’m just so thankful and so blessed. ASU changed my life for the better.”

The relationship between Tyson and Arizona State proved to be mutually beneficial. Before Tyson’s arrival and the start of the Kenny Dillingham era, the Sun Devils had struggled through 8–5 and 3–9 seasons. The program’s trajectory quickly changed after that.

Nieman posted on X, “Catching up with former Sun Devil wideout and projected first-round NFL draft pick Jordyn Tyson at Cold Beers and Cheeseburgers. Hear about Tyson’s charity efforts with @PhxChildrens, interviewing with teams at the NFL combine, reflecting on his time at ASU and more.”

Arizona State surged to an 11–3 record in 2024 and followed it up with an 8–5 campaign in 2025, reestablishing itself as a competitive program. Tyson played a major role in that turnaround.

His presence helped the Sun Devils record their highest PFSN CFB Offensive Impact score (82.8) since tracking began in 2019. Even during the 2025 season, when Tyson battled injuries and the team lost star quarterback Sam Leavitt for much of the year, he still managed to produce at a high level.

A Top 2026 NFL Draft Prospect

Tyson’s production and versatility have made him one of the most highly regarded skill players in the class.

According to the PFSN consensus big board, Tyson currently ranks as the No. 6 overall prospect and the top wide receiver in the class heading into the 2026 draft cycle.
Scouts are particularly intrigued by the rare blend of size, athleticism, and fluid movement he brings to the position.

PFSN’s scouting report highlights that balance:

“At 6’1″, 195 pounds, Tyson blends the line between bigger catch-dominating WRs and smaller route-dominating ones. At his size, he’s an effortless accelerator, and a snappy and fluid short-area mover, with bristling foot quickness and elastic stride freedom that translates well both as a stem operator and in the RAC phase.”

Those traits have helped Tyson develop into a complete receiver capable of winning both before and after the catch.

From Questionable College Start to Rising Star

Tyson’s path to becoming one of the top prospects in the country wasn’t always straightforward.

Early in his college career, he struggled to get off to an inconsistent start with the Colorado Buffaloes. His decision to transfer to Arizona State ultimately proved to be the turning point.

Under Dillingham’s system, Tyson found the right environment to develop both as a player and as a leader within the program.

Now, as he prepares for pro day and the final stretch of the pre-draft process, Tyson’s journey serves as a reflection of how much the right situation can change a player’s career.
And just as Arizona State helped reshape Tyson’s path, Tyson’s impact helped reshape the trajectory of the Sun Devils’ program.

With pro day approaching and the 2026 draft drawing closer, Tyson now has one more opportunity to show NFL teams exactly why he’s viewed as one of the most dynamic wide receiver prospects in the class.
