Naomi Osaka Stuns in New ‘Leopard’ Inspired Nike Teaser

Osaka has been sponsored by Nike since 2019, and all her tournament outfits and shoes are designed by the American sports apparel company. Earlier this year, during the 2026 Australian Open, she collaborated with designer Robert Wun to create an elaborate sea-inspired look.

For her walk-in outfit at the Melbourne Major, the four-time singles Grand Slam champion wore a turquoise-and-green tie-dye tennis dress, a white wide-brimmed hat with a sheer veil, and an umbrella.

Recently, Osaka took to social media to share an enchanting teaser of herself dressed in a leopard print dress while standing in the Mojave Desert. She accessorized with extravagant jewelry and had bedazzled nails. However, it remains to be seen whether the 28-year-old will wear this outfit on the court at Indian Wells.

“𝐏𝐔𝐑𝐑𝐑,” Osaka captioned her Instagram post.

Osaka’s best result at the BNP Paribas Open came in 2018 when she defeated Maria Sharapova, Agnieszka Radwańska, Sachia Vickery, Maria Sakkari, Karolína Plíšková, and Simona Halep to reach the final. There she overcame Daria Kasatkina to win the tournament, claiming her first WTA Tour title.

A Look Into Osaka’s First Match at the 2026 BNP Paribas Open at Indian Wells

Osaka is seeded 16th at the 2026 BNP Paribas Open and will begin her campaign in the second round after receiving a first-round bye. She is set to face qualifier Victoria Jiménez Kasintseva in her opening match.

Leading up to the WTA 1000 hard court tournament in California, Kasintseva competed at the 2026 Mérida Open, where she triumphed over Yulia Putintseva (6-4, 1-6, 6-4) and Magda Linette (5-7, 7-6(5), 7-5) in the first two rounds, respectively, before falling to qualifier Zhang Shuai (6-1, 6-3) in the quarterfinals.

At Tennis Paradise, Kasintseva secured her place in the main draw of the singles competition by winning her matches in the qualifiers. She defeated Lucrezia Stefanini (4-6, 6-4, 6-4) in the first qualifying round and advanced to the main draw by eliminating Katie Boulter (2-6, 7-5, 6-2) in the next qualifying round.

Kasintseva reached the second round of the 2026 BNP Paribas Open by defeating Caty McNally with a scoreline of 6-2, 6-7(4), 6-4 in the first round. Osaka and Kasintseva have never faced each other on the WTA Tour, making their upcoming second-round match the first encounter between the two players.

The winner of the match between Osaka and Kasintseva at Indian Wells will advance to face either 18th seed Iva Jovic or Camila Osorio in the third round of the tournament.
