According to the latest NFL offseason speculation, three of the league’s powerhouses could be engaged in a head-to-head battle to sign a future Hall of Famer. However, recent developments suggest the Philadelphia Eagles may secure an All-Pro wide receiver.
Philadelphia Eagles Could Strengthen Offensive Firepower With Mike Evans, Replacing A.J. Brown
Matthew Berry of NBC Sports reported that the Eagles will face competition from the Buffalo Bills and San Francisco 49ers for Mike Evans, should a direct bidding battle for the veteran player emerge — one of the offseason’s most discussed topics.
“Speaking of Mike Evans, I truly believe he’ll be in a new uniform next year,” Berry wrote.
“The Buccaneers love him, but given the commitment they made to Chris Godwin last year and a deep young WR room, Tampa Bay is okay letting him go elsewhere. I heard Buffalo as a potential landing spot for Evans and possibly Philly if the Eagles decide to move A.J. Brown.”
New column! One of my faves to write every year… the 35(!) most interesting rumors I heard at the NFL Combine. Notes on McCarthy, Derek Carr, Kyler, Ken Walker, Rodgers, AJ Brown, Mike Evans and more https://t.co/I6vVrwjIVq

For the 49ers, acquiring Evans would provide elite reinforcement for Kyle Shanahan, particularly if the team opts not to re-sign certain players due to salary-cap constraints.
Meanwhile, for the Bills, Evans could be the key solution to ending a prolonged search for reliable support for Josh Allen, following several seasons in which the passing game faltered at critical moments.
Of the three franchises mentioned, the Eagles have the least immediate need for a new wide receiver. However, the organization, historically aggressive in the market, could seize this opportunity to further elevate one of the NFL’s top offenses.
Eagles Can Seize Market Opportunity With Evans
Evans is the only player to begin his career with 10 consecutive seasons of more than 1,000 receiving yards, according to Pro Football Reference. Even at 32, he continues to produce at an elite level and has rarely suffered serious injuries.
These qualities make Evans a focal point of the offseason, and general manager Howie Roseman is likely monitoring his situation closely, given his history of signing high-level free agents to replace A.J. Brown.
Having spent his entire career with the Buccaneers, Evans — who ranks No. 65 in PFSN’s WR Impact Metric with a C- grade — may be nearing the end of his tenure in Tampa Bay. His connection to reports linking him to other teams suggests contract negotiations with the Buccaneers may have stalled.
