Eagles Star A.J. Brown Responds to Derrick Henry’s Ravens Recruitment Push

Eagles star receiver A.J. Brown addresses Ravens Derrick Henry’s very public push to bring him to Baltimore this offseason.

During the NFL offseason, when star players begin publicly campaigning for one another, it tends to spark fantasy booking and trade speculation. Social media clips turn into theories, and theories quickly turn into hypothetical depth charts. That is where two NFL stars now find themselves after one publicly floated the idea of joining forces in Baltimore.

A.J. Brown Responds Directly to Derrick Henry’s Ravens Recruitment Push

Baltimore Ravens running back Derrick Henry has twice suggested that Philadelphia Eagles receiver A.J. Brown should join him in Baltimore, most recently saying “A.J. to the Ravens” during a Super Bowl week appearance on Plaqueboymax’s Twitch stream after previously mentioning it on “Up & Adams.”

Brown addressed the recruitment during an appearance on the “Dudes on Dudes podcast with Rob Gronkowski and Julian Edelman. After acknowledging he had seen Henry’s comments circulating online, he was asked how he would respond to the pitch.

“I’m gonna tell Derrick to chill,” Brown said.

Baltimore is coming off an 8-9 season that ended without a playoff berth, prompting the organization to part ways with John Harbaugh after 18 years and turn the franchise over to first-time head coach Jesse Minter. The Ravens are retooling around Lamar Jackson with urgency.

Adding a player of Brown’s caliber would represent more than a splash. It would address a stylistic gap that has existed throughout Jackson’s tenure. Since becoming the starter, Baltimore has leaned heavily on speed and versatility at wide receiver. Zay Flowers fits that mold. What the Ravens have not consistently featured is a dominant, physical boundary presence capable of tilting coverage and winning at the catch point.

Brown would immediately change how defenses structure themselves against Baltimore.

Philadelphia’s situation is the reason Brown may be available. The Eagles finished 11-6 before losing to the San Francisco 49ers in the Wild Card Round. Team success did not eliminate internal scrutiny. Brown experienced statistical regression and showed signs of frustration all year. He finished 21st in PFSN’s NFL WR Impact Metrics. It marked his first season in four years outside the top ten.

That dip, paired with visible moments of frustration this year, fuels speculation about his long-term fit. Rumors have circulated about tension within the offensive structure, including potential conflicts with quarterback Jalen Hurts and head coach Nick Sirianni. None of that guarantees a move, but it has kept Brown’s name in trade conversations.

Any deal would require significant compensation. Brown remains under contract, and Philadelphia would command premium value. Henry’s comments may have been lighthearted. Brown’s response suggests he is not publicly campaigning for a change. Still, when one All-Pro openly recruits another, especially amid organizational transition in Baltimore, the speculation gains traction.

Brown may have told Henry to chill. The speculation around trading Brown likely will not.
