Free agency is approaching, and several Colts players are entering important contract windows. Wide receiver Alec Pierce addressed where things stand as the offseason moves toward a critical stretch. Pierce is set to become a free agent next month.
Alec Pierce Says He’s ‘Good With Everything That Stands’ As Market Approaches
Pierce spoke with SiriusXM NFL Radio about his mindset entering free agency and the unpredictability that comes with it.
“Yeah. I’m good with everything that stands,” Pierce said. “I think it’s gonna be a lot of good things in front of me and we’ll see, this next month might be crazy, but we’ll see what happens.”
Pierce is coming off the most productive season of his career. He topped 1,000 receiving yards for the first time and averaged 21.3 yards per reception, becoming the first player since Flipper Anderson in 1990 to lead the league in yards per catch in consecutive seasons.

His efficiency metrics are some of the best in football. Pierce posted an 84.6 WRi score, ranking ninth in PFSN’s WRi Metric. He dropped just one of his 84 targets and generated a targeted passer rating of 113.7.
Across his career, he has totaled 17 receiving touchdowns and has established himself as a consistent vertical threat.
DRAFT SEASON: PFSN’s FREE Mock Draft Simulator
Free agency opens with the legal tampering period on Monday, March 9 at 12:00 p.m. ET. Contracts can officially be signed when the league year begins on Wednesday, March 11, at 4:00 p.m. ET.
Market dynamics will shape Pierce’s outlook. If the Dallas Cowboys apply the franchise tag to George Pickens, Pierce would project as the top wide receiver available. Teams seeking downfield production and explosive-play ability will have a limited pool of talent.
During the same SiriusXM appearance, Pierce was also asked about quarterback Daniel Jones; it is unclear whether Jones will return. He is recovering from a season-ending Achilles injury. The Colts are assessing their offensive core as they prepare for the new league year.
Pierce’s stance remains steady. He acknowledged the next month might be crazy, but he is comfortable with his situation and is expected to land a major payday.

The coming weeks will determine how Indianapolis structures its offense heading into 2026. They likely want Pierce back, but he may command too much on the open market. Regardless of his production, he’ll remain a serious threat in the league for years to come.
