Carlos Alcaraz, Jannik Sinner, Daniil Medvedev, and Others Enjoy Gala Dinner in Doha Ahead of the Qatar Open

Alcaraz arrives at the 2026 Qatar Open riding the momentum of a stellar start to the season at the Australian Open. The Spaniard powered through the draw without dropping a set before surviving a marathon semifinal against Alexander Zverev, prevailing 6-4, 7-6(5), 6-7(3), 6-7(4), 7-5. He then capped his campaign in style, defeating Novak Djokovic in four sets to lift his maiden Australian Open crown.

Sinner opened his 2026 campaign at the Australian Open as the defending champion and looked composed through the early rounds. He recorded straight-set wins over Hugo Gaston, James Duckworth, Eliot Spizzirri, and Luciano Darderi before ousting Ben Shelton in the quarterfinals. His title defense, however, came to an end in a grueling five-set semifinal against Novak Djokovic.

Meanwhile, Medvedev has been more active than the other two in the early part of the 2026 season. He opened his campaign with a title run at the Brisbane International but was halted in the fourth round of the Australian Open by American youngster Learner Tien. More recently, the Russian endured an early setback in Rotterdam, suffering a first-round exit to Ugo Humbert.

The trio will now turn their attention to the ATP 500 event in Doha, but not before enjoying a glamorous gala evening. Sinner and Alcaraz were seen sharing a table, while they later posed for photographs alongside Medvedev and Greek star Stefanos Tsitsipas in a group picture with tournament officials.

Sinner would start his campaign against Tomáš Macháč, marking their third encounter on the tour. However, the Italian would be brimming with confidence given his 2-0 head-to-head lead against the Czech.

Meanwhile, top seed Alcaraz faces Arthur Rinderknech in the first round of the competition, marking their fifth clash on the ATP tour. The Spaniard has dominated in all of their previous four encounters and holds a 4-0 head-to-head lead. Medvedev, who is competing as the fourth seed in the Qatar Open, faces Shang Juncheng in the first round, marking their first tour-level encounter.
