Bills Predicted To Pull Off Stunning Trade for $140M Superstar WR to Start Joe Brady Era With a Splash

The Bills are predicted to make a major trade that reunites Joe Brady with his star WR and gives Josh Allen the weapon he desperately needs.

The Buffalo Bills are tired of always being the bridesmaid and never the bride. Their string of four Super Bowl losses from 1991 to 1994 still haunts them, and they hoped to finally break the curse when they drafted quarterback Josh Allen. After falling short again in 2025, they made massive changes and could now add one of the best weapons in the league to give Allen the edge he needs.

The Bills Are Predicted to Pull Off a Mind Blowing Trade Bringing a Major Weapon to Buffalo

Since Allen was drafted in 2018, the Bills have become perennial contenders; however, the results remain the same.

That led to the firing of Sean McDermott and the surprising promotion of offensive coordinator Joe Brady, who has been with the team since 2022.

Before coming ot the NFL, Brady spent time at LSU as their passing game coordinator and wide receivers coach. That gave him familiarity with wide receiver Justin Jefferson. That’s why Jordan Dajani from CBS Sports recently predicted that Brady might try to reunite with Jefferson by giving the Minnesota Vikings an enticing package of picks.

Dajani quoted Jefferson in his article, citing his praise for Brady. Jefferson credited Brady as being the reason why he got picked in the first round of the draft and got so much better.

“Why would Buffalo choose now to take a big swing at a receiver?” asked Dajani. “After all, Brandon Beane hasn’t been this aggressive before. Realize that the Bills’ front office is under just as much pressure as Brady to prove that the firing of Sean McDermott wasn’t a mistake. It’s about winning right now for the Bills, and what they will do is lean into Brady’s vision for the offense. Yes, Brady oversaw the No. 1 rushing attack in the NFL this past season, but his background is passing the ball.

“Jefferson is coming off his worst NFL season, as he set career lows in receiving yards (1,048) and receiving touchdowns (2). We all know he’s one of the best wide receivers in the NFL. His career 90.2 receiving yards per game ranks No. 2 in NFL history, and his 7,432 receiving yards through five seasons were the most in NFL history. Imagine a talent like Jefferson teaming up with a quarterback like Josh Allen.”

The Bills would not only have to be willing to spend significant draft capital, but they would also have to be prepared for a massive financial obligation. The former Offensive Player of the Year is under contract through 2028 as a part of a four-year, $140 million contract.

This might have been Jefferson’s worst statistical season of his career, but much of that is likely the result of quarterback instability. According to PFSN’s WR Impact metric, he had a grade of C+ for 2025, the lowest grade of his career. In 2024, he had a B+; 2022 and 2023 were both an A-.

Jefferson has shot down rumors of a trade request; however, the idea of reuniting with his former coach and being able to play with Allen might be enough to sway him.
