Team Canada Men’s Hockey Top 12 Players Ranked Featuring Connor McDavid, Cale Makar and More

Sidney Crosby leads a stacked Team Canada roster featuring Connor McDavid and Nathan MacKinnon into the 2026 Olympic gold medal pursuit.

Team Canada’s men’s hockey team is locked in for the 2026 Olympic Winter Games in Milano Cortina, and the roster is loaded.

Of the 25 players selected, 15 are Stanley Cup champions, and 19 were part of Canada’s victory at the 4 Nations Face-Off last February. It’s a group stacked with star power, championship pedigree, and elite talent.

1) Connor McDavid

The Oilers captain remains the best player in the world. Serving as an alternate captain for Canada, McDavid leads the NHL with 96 points and continues to carry Edmonton offensively with his speed and elite playmaking.

2) Sidney Crosby

At 38, Crosby is the oldest player on Team Canada, but he’s still producing like a star. The Olympic captain has 59 points in 56 games this season and continues to lead Pittsburgh with poise and experience.

3) Nathan MacKinnon

A dominant force down the middle, MacKinnon sits just behind McDavid in NHL scoring with 93 points. He was named MVP of the 4 Nations Face-Off after leading the tournament with four goals.

4) Cale Makar

One of the game’s premier defensemen, Makar plays in every situation and serves as an alternate captain. A two-time Norris Trophy winner (2022, 2025) and Stanley Cup champion, he remains a cornerstone on the blue line.

5) Macklin Celebrini

The young phenom made history as the youngest player selected to Canada’s Olympic team in the NHL era. He’s enjoying an elite second NHL season and entered the Olympic break ranked fourth in league scoring.

6) Brad Marchand

A battle-tested veteran with championship experience. Marchand continues to produce at a high level and ranks second on the Panthers in scoring entering the break.

7) Mitch Marner

An elite playmaker. Marner assisted on McDavid’s overtime winner against the U.S. in the 4 Nations championship game. He has also transitioned smoothly to Vegas this season after his move from Toronto.

8) Bo Horvat

A reliable two-way center, Horvat was named NHL Second Star of the Week on February 5, 2026. He also posted eight points at the 2025 IIHF World Championship.

9) Mark Stone

The Golden Knights captain remains one of hockey’s most complete wingers. Despite missing 16 games with a wrist injury, he has produced 60 points in 41 games this season.

10) Sam Reinhart

A versatile scorer and key special teams contributor, Reinhart is preparing in Milan for his Olympic debut. He’s been a core piece of Florida’s back-to-back Stanley Cup championships.

11) Nick Suzuki

The Canadiens captain entered the Olympic break ranked 12th in NHL scoring and is enjoying a career-best season, highlighted by a +25 rating.

12) Seth Jarvis

Added as an injury replacement for Brayden Point. He leads Carolina in goals and has emerged as one of the league’s top two-way forwards.
