Former President Barack Obama Makes Feelings Clear on Seahawks’ Super Bowl Triumph Over Patriots

As a result, their victory drew a ton of attention from every corner of the country. That included former President of the United States, Barack Obama, who showcased his knowledge of the game and, in particular, the winning team, as he delivered a passionate message to them.

Barack Obama Pins Down Everything That Made the Seahawks Special

After moving on from the old guard of Geno Smith, Tyler Lockett, and DK Metcalf, the Seahawks chose to add players like Cooper Kupp, Sam Darnold, and DeMarcus Lawrence in the offseason.

While some of those choices, most notably with their quarterback, were met with a ton of skepticism, there was still hope that the team as a whole could make some noise this season. But a trip to the Super Bowl and a victory there were the ultimate success stories for the franchise.

Behind a defense that ranked third on PFSN’s Defense Impact, and an offense powered by Njigba recording nearly 1,800 receiving yards, Seattle was consistently excellent all season long, finishing as the one-seed in the NFC with a 14-3 record.

Continuing their dominance in the postseason, they dispatched the San Francisco 49ers with ease, scoring more points in the first 15 seconds of the game than the Niners would all game long.

That trend continued in a Game of the Year contender when they beat the Los Angeles Rams for the second time in a two-month span to earn a trip to the Super Bowl. After Darnold answered all questions about himself, the team appeared ready to emerge as champions.

Facing another 14-win squad in the New England Patriots, they were more than ready for the challenge, shutting their opponents down for three quarters, as three forced turnovers paved the way for a dominant 29-13 victory.

After their win, Obama took to X to congratulate them. But rather than a standard message, he broke down the elements that made them such a success story for the 2025-26 NFL season.

“Congratulations to the Super Bowl champion @Seahawks! This defense was special. MVP Kenneth Walker was dominant. And Sam Darnold gave us one of the best comeback stories in a long time. Enjoy the celebration.”

The effort from Walker, particularly in the Super Bowl, was hard to miss. With Zach Charbonnet out of the game, the typically dual-rushing attack of Seattle had to be a singular charge led by Walker.

However, he appeared more than ready for the challenge, finishing with 135 rushing yards on 27 attempts at a sublime rate of five yards per carry. It earned him Super Bowl MVP honors, and deservedly so.
