One Gatorade color has been utilized more than any other in the Super Bowl over the last 25 years, but will that remain true in Super Bowl 60?

One of the many traditions of the Super Bowl is for the winning coach to have Gatorade poured on him after the game. This, along with players saying they are going to Disney World, is something that fans have come to associate with the end of the Super Bowl.

Which Gatorade Flavor Has Been Used the Most in the Super Bowl?

As sports gambling has increased in popularity, so has the appeal of betting on more niche things, particularly during big games everyone is watching, such as the Super Bowl. Those things include the length of the national anthem, whether the coin toss will be heads or tails, if there will be overtime, and much more.

But one of the most commonly bet things in the Super Bowl is the color of the Gatorade used by the winning team at the end of the game.

In fact, people have even leaned into this idea and conducted research on which color of Gatorade has been used each year. Orange is the most frequently used Gatorade during the Super Bowl over the past 25 years, appearing five times, per Underdog.

The caption of the X post read, “Gatorade color since 2001: Orange – 5 Blue – 4 Purple – 4 Yellow – 4 Clear – 4 None – 4 Red – 0.”

While this does not guarantee anything, the data shows that orange is the most utilized, while the rest of the colors are all used pretty equally, with one exception. Red Gatorade has not been used in the last 25 years, but could that trend be broken in 2026?

With the Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots set to face off on the game’s biggest stage, fans are set for what is expected to be a competitive game between two quarterbacks in the midst of breakout years, despite being in totally different places in their careers.

Drake Maye and Sam Darnold rank No. 2 and No. 13, respectively, in the PFSN NFL Quarterback Impact Metric (QBi). Maye is the young, up-and-coming star who has lived up to his immense potential in his second NFL season after being selected third overall in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Meanwhile, Darnold has taken an untraditional route to stardom, after struggling early in his career and bouncing around to several teams, before finally having his breakout season in his seventh NFL season in 2024 with the Minnesota Vikings.

However, due to his shaky track record, many still questioned his ability to repeat it. Darnold proved those doubters wrong in 2025 and has cemented himself as a starting quarterback.

Seattle and New England will each look to hoist the Lombardi Trophy once again, while fans hope for an entertaining game and look to see if obscure trends continue in Super Bowl 60.
