With news breaking on Monday that Cleveland Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders has been named a replacement player for the NFL’s Pro Bowl, a number of people from across the NFL world shared their opinions.
And, well, not all of the opinions regarding Sanders getting a nod to join the Pro Bowl were favorable ones.
NFL World Reacts to Browns QB Shedeur Sanders Making Pro Bowl
NFL insider Jordan Schultz shared news of Sanders getting his chance to join others in the Pro Bowl.
Barstool Sports’ account on X apparently thought that the Sanders’ addition wasn’t really a good idea. The post read, “Shedeur Sanders in the Pro Bowl”, with an image below it. In the image were the words, “They just be letting anybody in”.

Underdog’s account on X pointed out how many rookies are in the Pro Bowl this season: “Rookies to make the Pro Bowl this season: Shedeur Sanders … Chimere Dike … end of list”.
Matt Infante, the chief operating and financial officer of PFSN, posted some statistical context about Sanders’ selection on Monday. He wrote, “In the entire NFL Pro database, of any player, regardless of position, who attempted at least 1 pass in 2025, only Josh Dobbs had a worse EPA/dropback than Pro Bowl QB Shedeur Sanders. -0.34”.

Ari Meirov, who covers the NFL for The 33rd Team, offered some context on the AFC team’s quarterback situation going into the Pro Bowl.

Meirov posted on X, “The AFC’s Pro Bowl QBs were Drake Maye, Josh Allen, and Justin Herbert. Maye is going to the Super Bowl. The other two are banged up. We’ll see if they stay. Bo Nix got injured. Patrick Mahomes is injured. Daniel Jones is injured. That’s how it trickles down to Shedeur Sanders.”
48 NFL quarterbacks qualified for PFSN’s QB Impact metric in 2025.

Wendell Ferreira, who covers the Green Bay Packers and the NFL and who is also the AFC East Division Editor at A to Z Sports, wasn’t too happy with the decision to put Sanders on the Pro Bowl roster. “Shedeur Sanders’ rookie season: 7 TDs … 10 INTs … 68.1 passer rating Pro Bowler”.

Trey Wingo also raised an objection to Sanders’ selection. “Objectively, and the keyword here is objectively. This is patently ridiculous,” he wrote on X. “In what universe does a quarterback with a QBR rating of 18.9 out of 100, who threw more interceptions than touchdowns and completed 57% of his passes is a Pro Bowl player? Take the name away and look at the numbers, and no one would say that’s a Pro Bowl season.”
The account PPRFantasyTips openly called for the NFL to cancel the Pro Bowl.
Here’s what the account posted on X on Monday: “Ok, it’s OFFICIAL. The NFL needs to cancel the Pro Bowl. And I say that as a Shedeur Sanders fan. This is pathetic. Clearly the Pro Bowl means absolutely nothing … Dude shouldn’t sniff the word Pro Bowl for any reason….”

JPA’s account on X totally ripped the Pro Bowl and who makes it these days. The account posted on Monday after the news of Sanders’ addition: “Shedeur Sanders had seven touchdowns and 10 interceptions this season. You can no longer use ‘Pro Bowls’ when arguing about players. The Pro Bowl has completely lost all it’s value.”
Fliff, which states on X that it offers social sports picks, retweeted Meirov’s post on X and added, “Shedeur seeing this tweet”.

Some additional data on Sanders: Of 48 QBs in the PFSN QB Impact database in 2025, Sanders was 46th. According to the PFSN NFL QB Impact Metric, measured throughout the regular season, Sanders had an impact score of 56.9 and graded out an F.
Those metrics don’t really scream Pro Bowl quarterback. Nevertheless, Sanders will be among other NFL players at this year’s Pro Bowl.
