Three of the seeded players and the Top ATP stars- Tommy Paul, Alexander Bublik, and Frances Tiafoe won their respective first-round matches at the 2026 Australian Open. All three of them won their first-round matches in straight sets.
Let’s take a look at the second-round matches for these three players at the 2026 Australian Open.
Tommy Paul Will Face Thiago Agustin Tirante In the Second Round
Paul faced off against compatriot Aleksandar Kovacevic in the first round, winning the match 6-4, 6-3, 6-3. He will now face Argentina’s Thiago Agustin Tirante, who won 7-5, 6-2, 6-2 against home favorite Aleksandar Vukic.
This will be the first meeting between the two players, with Paul having a 78 percent win probability as calculated by the PFSN Simulator. Winning over 90 percent of the first-serve points, Paul did not face a single break point in his previous match. The same was for Tirante as well, who did not face any break points in his previous match, and won 85 percent of the first serve points.

Both players served well in their previous matches, so return games, especially in the first set, will be key in the upcoming match. Paul, being the top-ranked player, should be able to find a way to get into the Argentine’s serve and be dominant in the match.
Pick- Paul to win in straight sets
Alexander Bublik Will Look To Make A Deep Run in Melbourne As He Faces Marton Fucsovics In The Second Round
Being a top 10 seed for the first time, Bublik started his Australian Open campaign with a routine 6-4, 6-4, 6-4 win against Jenson Brooksby in the first round. He will now face Marton Fucsovics of Hungary, who won 7-6 (5), 6-1, 6-2 against Camilo Ugo Carabelli in the first round.

Meanwhile, Fucsovics was broken thrice in the previous match, but the Hungarian excelled in the return games, breaking his opponent seven times in the match.
