NFL Sets NFC, AFC Championship Games Starting Times

When the Patriots travel to the AFC Championship Game, they will face the Broncos at Empower Field at Mile High in Denver on Sunday, with kickoff set for 3 p.m. ET. As for the Rams, they’ll hit the road for the NFC Championship Game. They will face the Seahawks at Lumen Field in Seattle, with kickoff set for 6:30 p.m. ET.

So, how did these four teams reach their conference championships? On Saturday, a Will Lutz field goal in overtime helped the Broncos defeat the Buffalo Bills 33-30. Although the Broncos advanced, they suffered a major loss. Starting quarterback Bo Nix broke his ankle, putting him out for the rest of this season.

Broncos head coach Sean Payton will turn to backup quarterback Jarrett Stidham for this important game.

On Sunday, quarterback Drake Maye led the Patriots to a 28-16 win over the Houston Texans, as the AFC South team got one of the worst performances possible from starting quarterback C.J. Stroud.

Over on the NFC side, Sam Darnold and a tough Seahawks defense dominated the San Francisco 49ers 41-6. On Sunday, the Rams were pushed to overtime by the Chicago Bears after a highlight-reel touchdown pass by quarterback Caleb Williams. But Rams kicker Harrison Mevis nailed a 42-yard field goal, giving Los Angeles a 20-17 overtime victory.

As for the TV networks airing the AFC and NFC championship games, CBS will air the Patriots-Broncos game. Jim Nantz and Tony Romo are slated to call the action in the AFC title game from Empower Field at Mile High.

The NFC Championship Game goes to Fox Sports. Kevin Burkhardt and seven-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady are scheduled to be on the call for the network.

Looking ahead to Super Bowl 60, NBC will air that game between the AFC and NFC champions. Mike Tirico and Cris Collinsworth are scheduled to call that game. All three of these networks will also have sideline reporters offering updates throughout their broadcasts.

Now, all that’s left to be done is to see which two teams capture their conference championships on Championship Sunday.
