NFL World Calls Out NBC and Cris Collinsworth for ‘Terrible’ Broadcast of Rams-Bears Playoff Clash

As the NFL world watched the Rams and Bears play in an NFC Divisional Round playoff game, many called out NBC and Cris Collinsworth.

While NBC was airing Sunday night’s NFC Divisional Round game between the Los Angeles Rams and the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field, a few viewers were unhappy with what they were seeing.

In fact, a number of them called out not only NBC for its camera usage, but also had a few choice words for analyst Cris Collinsworth, who was in the booth with play-by-play man Mike Tirico. Notably, the NFL world was unhappy that the network failed to properly show a field goal by Bears kicker Cairo Santos.

NFL World Blasts NBC, Cris Collinsworth for Game Coverage

Harrison Graham, vice president of programming at Chat Sports and host of Chicago Bears Now, posted on X about the NBC coverage.

Graham wrote, “Literally no one watching on TV knew if that kick was good cause the camera went to the moon. What on earth.”

Steve Millar, who is a reporter for the Chicago Tribune/Daily Southtown, wasn’t that impressed by what he was seeing on his TV screen. Millar posted on X, “Bit of a tough half for NBC between the camera work on that field goal and totally missing that penalty called on the Bears D earlier.”

BearsFanSteven, who is an IT professional and a co-host of “The Double-A Team” podcast, wrote and posted on X, “10-7 Bears. The Bears’ defense made another stop, and the offense had to settle for a field goal. BTW, I could not see that field goal attempt being made. NBC Sports has been terrible tonight.”

Sean Johnson, head of operations at Snapback Sports, also wasn’t much of a fan of the NBC coverage. Johnson posted on X, “Love NBC going with the ‘can’t see the ball’ angle there on the field goal. Can’t miss field goals if you never see them. Next level.”

Greg Gabriel, a two-time Super Bowl winner who has 30-plus years in NFL scouting, had some words about watching Collinsworth comment on the game: “Collinsworth is so pro Rams”.

Joe Flint, the Wall Street Journal’s media reporter, posted on X: “Doesn’t matter now, but did Collinsworth really think the Bears would go for two?”

Hopefully, for these members of the NFL world, the rest of the NBC broadcast will be worth watching to the end.
