World No. 9 Madison Keys recently spoke about her support for the NFL’s Buffalo Bills. While admitting that she follows the team and often acknowledges updates from its heiress and fellow WTA player, Jessica Pegula, Keys conceded that she tends to forget to check those consistently. Her remarks later drew a brief reaction from the World No. 6
Buffalo Bills Heiress Jessica Pegula Takes Note of Madison Keys’ Support for the NFL Team
Jessica Pegula hails from a prominent business family, with her father, Terry Pegula, building his fortune after founding East Resources in 1983, growing the company into a major player in the energy sector before selling it to Royal Dutch Shell for $4.7 billion in 2010.
This was followed by striking another major deal with American Energy Partners in 2014. Later, Pegula’s parents, Terry and Kim, acquired the Buffalo Bills for a whopping $1.4 billion in 2014.
Pegula has consistently backed the NFL franchise and remains closely connected to the team. That support, however, is not limited to her alone. Fellow WTA star and Top 10 player Madison Keys recently revealed her own allegiance to the team. In a recent WTA clip, the American admitted that while she often acknowledges Pegula’s updates celebrating the team’s victories, she often fails to check back in.
“Well I do support the Bills because of Jessie Pegula. And by support, I acknowledge when she’s told me that they won, I usually forget to look to see if they’ve won. I’d be very happy if the Bears did well this Super Bowl and I am really looking forward to the Super Bowl halftime show,” she said.”

Keys’ comments quickly grabbed attention, and Pegula didn’t hold back in responding. “I’ll take it,” she wrote in the comments.

The Buffalo Bills are enjoying a strong postseason run, having advanced to the NFL’s Divisional Round and set to travel to Denver next week. Their campaign gained momentum with a hard-fought 27–24 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars in the wildcard round, marking the franchise’s first playoff road win in 23 years.
Meanwhile, Pegula and Keys are both focused on making an impact during the 2026 season. The two Americans are currently in Australia and opened their campaigns at the Brisbane International, where Keys bowed out in the quarterfinals to Aryna Sabalenka, while Pegula advanced further before falling to Marta Kostyuk in the semifinals.
Keys then moved on to the Adelaide International, where she was the defending champion and second seed. Here, she beat Tereza Valentová 6-4, 6-1 before losing 4-6, 6-4, 2-6 to Victoria Mboko, who will play the final against Mirra Andreeva.
