WATCH: Eagles Star A.J. Brown, Nick Sirianni Have Heated Sideline Exchange During Wild Card Game vs. 49ers

Eagles HC Nick Sirianni and wide receiver A.J. Brown were seen yelling at each other on the sidelines during the first half against the 49ers.

While the Philadelphia Eagles held a 13-10 halftime lead over the San Francisco 49ers in an NFC Wild Card game, there was some activity on the Eagles’ sidelines between head coach Nick Sirianni and wide receiver A.J. Brown.

The incident took place late in the second quarter. From the looks of what was shown by Fox Sports, there weren’t a lot of nice words exchanged between the two.

What Happened Between Eagles HC Nick Sirianni, WR A.J. Brown?

Fox Sports’ cameras caught Sirianni running down the sidelines, apparently yelling at Brown to get off the field.

When Brown reached the sidelines, he and Sirianni were shown exchanging words. After the Eagles’ head coach had gone back down the field, Brown could be seen yelling something in his direction. It also appeared that Sirianni looked back at Brown before going back to watching the action on the field.

However, Sirianni confirmed during his halftime conversation with Erin Andrews that there is nothing wrong with him and Brown, and they’ll “go back to loving each other” after the game is over.

While watching the video, Fox Sports NFL commentator Tom Brady said that it looked like a couple of guys caught up in the heat of battle. Brady added that Sirianni and Brown have a good relationship, so it remains to be seen what all the commotion was actually all about.

NFL Network Insider Mike Garafolo added some context to the situation that evolved along the Eagles’ sidelines. Garafolo wrote, “I’m not sure this even registers as a top-10 A.J. Brown controversy. Sirianni told him to get off the field, seemingly to avoid a penalty for too many men. Jordan Mailata was close, too. There was time on the play clock and it got reset though”.

Brown originally was a second-round draft choice out of Ole Miss by the Tennessee Titans in the 2019 NFL Draft. This past regular season for the Eagles, Brown totaled 78 catches for 1,003 yards and seven touchdown catches. He averaged 12.9 yards per catch and has been a key target for Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts.

According to the PFSN NFL WR Impact Metric, which covered regular-season play, Brown had an impact score of 80.9 and graded out to a B-.

It will be interesting to see if anything else happens between Sirianni and Brown in the second half game against San Francisco. The Eagles want to keep on moving along in the NFC playoff picture, but they have to beat the 49ers to do so.
