We are all set for the final of the 2026 United Cup, and it will be Poland vs. Switzerland in what promises to be a must-watch tie. Fans will get to see several household names in action at Sydney’s Ken Rosewall Arena, including Iga Świątek, Stan Wawrinka, and Belinda Bencic.
This will be Poland’s third straight final at the United Cup and they will hope to go one better this year after falling at the last hurdle to Germany and the United States in the last two editions of the tournament.
United Cup 2026 Day 10 Schedule
Poland managed to exact revenge on the United States for its loss in last year’s final. Hubert Hurkacz gave Poland the lead with a hard-fought 7-6 (1), 7-6 (2) win over Taylor Fritz, before Świątek lost 2-6, 4-6 to Coco Gauff. However, Katarzyna Kawa and Jan Zieliński stepped up for Poland in the deciding mixed doubles match, defeating Gauff and Christian Harrison in straight sets 7-6 (5), 7-6 (3).
Switzerland also had to work hard to make the final, but got the better of Belgium on the back of an impressive performance by Belinda Bencic. The World No. 11 first defeated Elise Mertens 6-3, 4-6, 7-6 (0), before teaming up with Jakub Paul to eliminate Belgium in the decider with a 6-3, 0-6, [10-5] win. Stan Wawrinka also put in a resilient performance but was ultimately beaten 3-6, 7-6 (4), 3-6 by Zizou Bergs.
The 2026 United Cup final will begin with Świątek taking on Bencic in the women’s singles match. The head-to-head currently stands at 5-1 in the Pole’s favor, so she will fancy her chances of victory here despite losing to Gauff on Saturday.
Hubert Hurkacz will then face Wawrinka in the men’s singles. This will be their second-ever meeting. The Pole came out on top in straight sets the last time they met (at the 2023 United Cup).
If needed, the decider will be a mixed doubles match. Kawa and Zieliński have represented Poland in the mixed doubles at the United Cup so far, and captain Mateusz Terczyński might look to retain that team for the final. Bencic and Paul are likely to be Switzerland’s picks for the mixed doubles match, if needed.
