“I do not have any indication right now that John Harbaugh is in danger of being fired. That would really surprise me,” Pelissero said during a recent appearance on “The Rich Eisen Show.”
Harbaugh has been a fixture in Baltimore since 2008, and Pelissero pointed to the long-standing trust between Harbaugh and team owner Steve Bisciotti while acknowledging the frustrations of the current campaign.
“There’s a reason Steve Bisciotti has stuck with him for 18 seasons and running now,” Pelissero said. “But clearly, there’s things that they need to talk through here when you’re coming off a pretty disappointing season to this point.”
Pelissero added that the narrative could shift quickly if the Ravens find momentum late in the year. “But [this season] still could take a turn,” he said. “And if they play like they did last week in Green Bay and Derrick Henry is just running all over everybody, maybe they go into the playoffs, make some noise, and this all just becomes background into the offseason.”
Baltimore will have its chance to change the conversation in Week 18, when it faces the Pittsburgh Steelers in a winner-take-all matchup that secures both the AFC North title and a playoff berth. The game represents the Ravens’ only path to stabilizing a season that has swung between promise and frustration, arriving at a moment when the franchise is searching for momentum and clarity.
The stakes extend beyond rivalry implications. A victory would not only clinch the division but also temporarily quiet the speculation surrounding the team’s trajectory and reinforce Pelissero’s belief that the season still has room to turn. A loss, however, would knock Baltimore out of postseason contention and deepen the questions that have followed the team for weeks.
