What’s Happening With Rams RB Blake Corum?

Corum took a handoff from Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford and moved through the offensive line. But the running back was tackled and came up hobbling with a right leg injury.

According to a post on X from Rams reporter Wyatt Miller, Corum headed back to the locker room after leaving the field. Wyatt reportedly suffered an ankle injury, and he’s questionable to return. That would be a big loss to the Rams’ rushing attack if he cannot return.

The Rams have been alternating drives between Kyren Williams and Corum for almost the entire season. Even though this game doesn’t matter much, it seems highly improbable Sean McVay would continue rotating his backs with someone else. This should be a near 100% snap share for Williams going forward if Corum can’t return.

Falcons running back Bijan Robinson scored on a 93-yard run with less than two minutes in the first half, putting the Falcons up 21-0. Robinson earlier scored a touchdown on a pass from Falcons quarterback Kirk Cousins.

According to the PFSN NFL RB Impact metrics, Corum has an impact score of 78.7 and grades out to a C-. On Monday night, Corum had six carries for 18 yards and no touchdowns. For the season entering Monday night’s game, Corum had 126 carries for 669 yards and six touchdown runs.

Without Corum, Williams is going to probably get the brunt of the Rams’ carries in the backfield. With Atlanta leading 21-0, the Rams will have to rely on their passing attack much more if they are going to get back into the game.

Stafford will have to get back on track, as he has thrown two interceptions in the game, with his last one leading the Falcons to their third touchdown of the game. Los Angeles must get moving soon or risk falling further behind, and end up as the sixth seed in the conference.
