Flyers Trade Rumors: Minnesota Wild Zeroing In on 24Yo Forward

Minnesota Wild continues to be at the forefront of trade rumors as the team is linked with a 24-year-old Philly winger.

The star-studded Central Division received a significant boost when the Minnesota Wild secured star defenseman Quinn Hughes from the Vancouver Canucks. Not the one to shy away from making moves, Bill Guerin dropped a hefty cheque to secure Kirill Kaprizov for the long term, followed by an equally blockbuster trade involving Hughes. What could the Wild GM’s next move be?

Guerin may have more in store for the community; an insider has linked the Minnesota front office with a 24-year-old Philadelphia Flyers winger.

Bobby Brink Speculated to Be on the Minnesota Wild’s Radar

The Wild are currently third in the Central Division with 52 points. The Colorado Avalanche is a formidable presence in the division, but Guerin is leaving no stone unturned to propel the Wild to the very top. The Minnesota front office has also been linked with Nashville Predators forward Ryan O’Reilly. O’Reilly has informed suitors about his desire to continue playing with the Predators, making any move surrounding him quite challenging.

However, O’Reilly is not the end of the trade noise surrounding the Wild. Anthony Di Marco has come forward to speculate about a potential move between the Flyers and the Wild for 24-year-old Bobby Brink. Brink is nearing the end of his two-year, $3 million contract with the Flyers. While the team’s management is not desperately seeking an opportunity to move him, the possibility remains.

“While in discussions with the Flyers…over the last several months, the Wild have shown continued interest in…Bobby Brink; while the Flyers are in no rush to trade Brink, I have heard that he…could be on the outs long term,” Di Marco wrote for the Daily Faceoff as shared by the NHL Rumour Report on their X account.

Brink has accumulated 17 points in 37 games so far this season, and is spending more time on ice per game than ever. What is more, the Wild have been in talks with the Flyers for a while. Guerin had displayed a keen interest in the whereabouts of Tyson Foerster once the news of his grave injury, which had effectively ended his regular season, came to light. Guerin even offered Ryan Hartman in return.

“According to sources from both the Flyers and Minnesota Wild, I’m told that the latter did reach out to discuss a potential trade once the news of Foerster came to light. According to sources, I’m told that the Wild offered up center Ryan Hartman to the Flyers,” Di Marco stated.

With all this noise surrounding the Minnesota front office, it has been made adequately clear that Guerin is not even close to being done.
