Gauff and Sera have been together since 2023, though their connection stretches back even further. Gauff has previously shared that her mother once taught Sera in fourth grade. That familiarity eventually grew into a relationship, which Gauff publicly acknowledged earlier this year shortly after celebrating their second anniversary following her French Open triumph.

Gauff delivered one of the strongest campaigns of her career. She finished the year ranked No. 3 in the world, highlighted by her second Grand Slam title at the French Open. She also claimed a title in Wuhan, reached finals in Madrid and Rome, and closed the season with a 48-16 singles record.

In doubles, she added another trophy in Montreal with partner McCartney Kessler, underlining her versatility. According to the tour’s prize money figures for the season, Gauff earned approximately $7.27 million over the year.

How Did Gauff’s 2025 Season End, and What Lies Ahead in 2026?

Gauff’s campaign wrapped up earlier than she would have liked, as she failed to progress beyond the group stage at the WTA Finals. Arriving in Riyadh as the third seed and reigning champion, she was drawn into the Stefanie Graf Group alongside Aryna Sabalenka, Jessica Pegula, and Jasmine Paolini.

Her tournament got off to a difficult start with a closely contested three-set defeat to Pegula. Although she steadied herself with a straight-sets victory over Paolini, a loss to Sabalenka in the final round-robin match ultimately dashed her hopes of reaching the semifinals.

Gauff will open her 2026 season at the United Cup, where she is slated to lead Team USA from Jan. 2-11 in Perth and Sydney. The defending champions and No. 1 seeds are fronted by Gauff and Taylor Fritz, with the United States drawn into Group A alongside Spain and Argentina.
