Ian Rapoport Provides Injury Updates on Packers’ Key Players

Linebacker Micah Parsons will undergo surgery shortly after the Christmas holidays to repair a torn ACL, Rapoport confirmed on Sunday. Parsons suffered the injury during Week 15 against the Denver Broncos, and an MRI earlier this week revealed a complete ligament tear.

The procedure begins a rehabilitation period expected to last around nine months, putting Parsons’ potential return at the start of the 2026 season. Green Bay plans to manage his recovery carefully, knowing that being medically cleared does not immediately mean he will be game-ready.

Despite the serious injury, defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley expressed confidence in Parsons’ dedication and work ethic. According to NFL.com, Hafley stated that Parsons is expected to return stronger and continue to be a vital piece of the defense.

The Packers also saw quarterback Jordan Love exit Saturday’s game after a helmet-to-helmet hit left him with a concussion. Love was replaced by backup Malik Willis and entered the NFL’s concussion protocol.

His availability for the Week 17 game against the Baltimore Ravens will depend on his progression through the protocol. If he is unable to return, Willis is expected to start again. PFSN’s QBi gives Love a score of 87.8 with a B+ rating for his season before the game.

Running back Josh Jacobs left the game early due to a knee injury, and his status remains uncertain. Wide receiver Romeo Doubs suffered a wrist injury but was able to finish the game. The team is monitoring both players closely as it readies itself for the next game.

The Bears capitalized on Green Bay’s challenges, rallying from a 10-point deficit in the fourth quarter to force overtime. Rookie quarterback Caleb Williams threw a 46-yard touchdown pass to DJ Moore in the extra period, winning 22-16. The loss dropped the Packers to 9-5-1, while Chicago moved to 11-4 and strengthened its lead in the NFC North.

With these players out, Green Bay’s remaining schedule takes on an added urgency, as the team must adapt as soon as it heads into Week 17 against the Baltimore Ravens on Dec. 27.
