Cardinals Injury Report: Latest on Marvin Harrison Jr, Bam Knight, Trey Benson, Others for Week 16

Will the Cardinals' top stars be available for the team's Week 16 game against the Atlanta Falcons? Find out more here.

The Arizona Cardinals have been out of playoff contention for a while now. The team looked strong during the offseason, but the wheels came off sooner than they would’ve liked. A loaded roster featuring Kyler Murray, James Conner, Marvin Harrison Jr., and Trey McBride meant little in the most feared division in pro football, the NFC West.

Ahead of the team’s Week 16 home game against the Atlanta Falcons, let’s look at its injury report to get an idea of who might be playing.

Will Cardinals Stars Marvin Harrison Jr, Bam Knight, Trey Benson Play vs. Falcons in Week 16?

There are numerous questions surrounding Arizona’s roster for Week 16. Here is the latest news on the top players.

1) Marvin Harrison Jr. — WR

Harrison started the season with a strong series of performances. However, his endurance didn’t last long enough, as he’s currently working through a heel injury.

He was fresh off recovering from appendicitis in Week 13 when he suffered the heel injury against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, ranked 24th in PFSN’s Offense Metric. While he missed their last game against the Houston Texans, head coach Jonathan Gannon expects the wideout to play again this season.

2) Bam Knight — RB

Knight saw increased touches out of the backfield after a wave of injuries struck the Cardinals. However, his productive campaign faced a setback against the Texans, as he sprained his left ankle early in the game.

While he seemingly avoided surgery, he was placed on injured reserve with the expectation that he’ll miss the rest of the season.

3) Trey Benson — RB

Benson’s injury marks another setback for Arizona’s backfield this season. The running back has been out for a while, having last played in Week 4 against the Seattle Seahawks, when he injured his knee.

On Dec. 10, Gannon said Benson won’t be activated from IR, ruling him out for the last few games of the campaign.

4) Xavier Weaver — WR

Weaver hasn’t been a prominent feature in Arizona’s offense this season, and his injury concerns haven’t added much optimism. He last contributed on offense in Week 12 in a loss against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The hamstring injury he’s dealing with kept him out against the Texans, and he could be trending in the same direction for Week 16.

5) Evan Brown — LG

Left guard Evan Brown has missed time due to personal reasons, having missed the Cardinals’ games against the LA Rams and Texans. He didn’t practice in any capacity ahead of their game against Houston. It remains to be seen whether his personal matter is resolved for him to be available for Week 16.
