The Tennessee Titans lost to the San Francisco 49ers 37-24 in Week 15, but for veteran defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons, Sunday may have showcased the coolest moment of his career.
Simmons has been waiting almost a decade for a franchise quarterback. In the fourth quarter, on a scramble drill, he caught a touchdown pass from one. Cam Ward continued to flash, and while there were bright spots from the loss, Simmons’ day was spoiled when he got home from Santa Clara.
Jeffery Simmons Suffers Home Invasion
The Titans suffered their 12th loss of the season against the 49ers. Simmons added another one to the ledger when he found that his home had been broken into.
Simmons took to his Instagram to share the news and his frustration.
“Titan star Jeffery Simmons returned from San Francisco to find that his house had been broken into,” NFL reporter Easton Freeze posted. “Looks like the criminals left behind their hammer… a nice professional touch. The Titans are aware of the break-in and are still gathering information.”
NFL stars have long been at risk of at-home robberies. Famous athletes have the publicity and wealth to become targets, and their schedules become public months before the upcoming season.
Quarterbacks Patrick Mahomes, Joe Burrow, and Shedeur Sanders have all been victims in recent years. Simmons and his four-year, $94 million contract can be added to the list.
“God is the Greatest and I’m his son!! Whoever you are, just know he sit high and look low,” Simmons posted. “You’ll get what you deserve f***ing cowards!”

Simmons earned that massive extension by posting 26.5 sacks and earning two second-team All-Pro nominations on his rookie contract. Two years into his new deal, he has logged 14 more sacks and a third Pro Bowl appearance.
He has continued that momentum into 2025. By PFSN’s Defensive Tackle Impact metric, Simmons currently ranks second, between Indianapolis Colts star DeForest Buckner and Dallas Cowboys midseason acquisition Quinnen Williams. He’s one of the best defensive players in the sport, and he added a sack, forced fumble, and touchdown reception in Week 15.
Simmons speculated on Instagram that the burglary was planned, suggesting that only one room (the master bedroom) had been broken into. He also expressed gratitude that nobody was home during the incident.
The Metro Nashville Police Department is currently investigating and working to rectify the situation.
As Simmons deals with this off-field turbulence, he’ll prepare for late-season contests against the Kansas City Chiefs, New Orleans Saints, and Jacksonville Jaguars.
