Sanders was asked about the incident during the postgame press conference. While few wanted to believe the Browns could have mishandled something so basic, he explained there was a valid reason for the confusion.
Sanders explained that the cardboard, which goes inside the wristband and contains the play calls, fell somewhere on the sideline. He downplayed the issue, which was minor on a day when nothing went right for the Browns’ offense.

The Browns’ offense never took off. They finished the game with just 192 total yards, never reaching the end zone. There were notable plays from the Bears’ defense, but the Browns’ offensive threat was minimal.
Sanders had just 177 passing yards, while the running game produced only 51 yards, including 24 on Sanders’ scrambles. Players such as Isaiah Bond and Harold Fannin had solid performances, but the overall lack of talent was evident, and the rookie quarterback faced an extremely difficult day.

The Browns now have a 3-11 record and little to play for in the final three games. One silver lining for fans is Myles Garrett, who is now just one sack away from setting the NFL record for most sacks in a single season. He added 2.0 sacks on Sunday, bringing his total to 22.
